Well of course he doesn’t debunk them all, MC… He’s only one man, and he’s got to sleep sometime. As for “why bother at all if he believes they’re all false”, I believe that the idea is to give other folks an idea of how to debunk “sightings” on their own, so he doesn’t have to do all of the work himself-- It’s sort of like Cecil: He knows that he can’t eradicate all ignorance all by himself, but he can help us eradicate it.
I think the most likely explanation for UFO’s is that they do exist, but are probably terrestrial phenomena. Highest on the list of liely candidates is secret military aircraft. After all, every secret US aircraft (U-2, SR-71, F-117, B-2) has been tested at Area 51 for years before it was admitted that they even existed. These probably account for most UFO sightings.
Incidentally, did you know that Area 51 has probably been shut down? Really! Three pieces of evidence point to this:
-
UFO sightings in Nevada dropped drastically a few years ago.
-
The ‘Cammo Dudes’ are gone. Area 51’s mysterious security force used to arrest anyone who even approached the compound. Recently, a reporter and some friends went up there are were able to walk up to the gates without even seeing a security guard. They didn’t try to go inside.
-
The Russians are allowed to fly over Area 51 as part of a treaty. I assume it’s part of the nuclear arms agreements. Anyways, word has leaked out that they no longer see any substantial activity there.
No word on where the aircraft testing is occurring now, but my WAG would be the White Sands Missle Testing Range.
