alkaline batterys are getting worse and worse.

Exactly my thoughts. This is addressing a known problem, you’d think that would be a positive.

But a quick search online doesn’t show Energizer advertising any batteries as “Leak Proof” so this whole hijack is pointless. They do claim to have leak resistant packaging, but so do all of the major brands.

From here: Disposable Batteries compared -- Alkaline, Lithium, Carbon Zinc, Oxyride

All battery brands offer some type of guarantee protecting your devices from malfunctioning batteries. I’m only questioning why Energizer would go out of their way to advertise being leak-proof.

It’s either because
A: Their batteries are 100% leak-proof (we’ve already determined this isnt the case)
B: They need to remind you of the guarantee (meaning some batteries will leak)
C: They are prone to leaking

On pack (I have pictures but dont know how to upload) Energizer claims ‘No leaks guaranteed or we will replace your device’. The mere fact that they make the effort to tell us they are leak proof makes me suspicious that they have a major issues with leaking batteries.

I have pictures of the no-leak guarantee, so this discussion is not pointless. Don’t know how to upload.

The no-leak guarantee is a very poor marketing claim. Why make this no-leak claim if it isn’t true? Makes me think Energizer batteries are prone to leaking and thus i wont buy.

“But why do they put a guarantee on the box then?”

“Because they know all they sold you was a guaranteed piece of shit.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEB7WbTTlu4

I had some Duracell alkalines that lasted 18 years in a toy called a “glow worm,” essentially a squeeze-on flash-light. They never leaked.

I can’t say that I’ve had an alkaline battery leak in anything in decades.

If you’re really disturbed about it, get some NiMH LSD rechargeables- they don’t leak, although they can outgas a little bit if overcharged.
