# All Americans need education in Black studies

It’s the common heritage of all Americans to read the works of great Black thinkers like W.E.B. DuBois, James Baldwin, Audre Lorde, and bell hooks, to name some of the brightest lights in the firmament. How can anyone _ever_ understand America without taking in Black thinkers’ perspectives?
