Add to my list of goodies available for the taking a Jalal’s Mane. I think that **Who\_me?** has a shapeshifter now? I started my new character the other day, named “SureICan” (which should tell you what the main skill is ;)). It’ll be a while before she can use it, but please keep an eye out for an ethereal War Fist, Lengendary Mallet, or other big honkin’ one handed weapon. I’m not sure which would be better, the fist or the mallet: On the one hand, the mallet has a higher base average damage, but on the other hand, the war fist would benefit from Claw Mastery. And on the gripping hand, the mallet has a much higher attribute bonus than any claw (110 vs. 50). Also, my sorc can handle a Normal or Nightmare rush fairly easily, but starts having problems with Hell Andariel. Andariel herself is a pushover (gotta love -50% fire resistance), but if I try to do anything other than run on Catacombs 4, the carvers eat me. Coldworm the Burrower, on the other hand, is no problem, nor is much of anything in Act 2 (except Duriel, of course): I routinely run a2, including all three levels of the Maggot Lair, for fun. But we should probably try to incorporate **theckhd** in a mule rush, if for no other reason than that he can bring five characters to the game. And he has a sorceress who is pretty much designed for doing these rushes, though I’m not sure what level she is. For transmuting, it depends on the recipe. Some depend on the level of the character doing the transmuting, some depend on the level of the item used, and some don’t depend on either. All of the upgrade recipes (gems, runes, and item type), where you know exactly what you’re going to get, don’t depend on anything. The 3 pgems and a magic item recipe depends on the level of the magic item, but on nothing else: The output item level is the same as the input (this works on all magic items, by the way, not just charms). The socketed weapon recipes always output the same level item, so neither the input item nor the character matter. Crafting depends mostly on the level of the item, but also on the character: The item level alone (and random factors) determine the number of attributes you get, and a combination of the old item level and the character level determine the new item level. All other recipes, including the six perfect skull recipe, depend equally on the item level and the character level. The item level of an item is determined by what monster (or chest) drops it, or by what character buys it. There’s no way to look at an item and tell exactly what level it is, but it determines which affixes the item can have on it. So a Grand Charm with +1 to max damage which drops in a Hell Baal run is a high level item, even though it’s indistinguishable from a Grand Charm with +1 to max damage which drops in the normal Den of Evil. The former would be a good candidate for the three perfect gem recipe, since it might get +1 to a skill tree or other good mods, but the latter would not be a good candidate, since it would always be a low level item and therefore always get junk mods. ---

If you are using a Blade Fury Ans, why are you going one handed? You could use a maul or anything else. You shouldn’t be getting close to the monsters in any case. I had a weapon on switch for my MA asn on East for use with BF. Glimmershread. Great physical/elemental damage on that one and the reqs aren’t that high. ---

Physical damage is reduced by 50% for blade fury with two-handed weapons. As far as doing hell rushes, I could bring my avenger along for the ride. That should make things happier. ---

Along with rerolling charms from Hell Baal runs, I’m also thinking of rerolling jewels in order of getting as close to the (2 quantity) 40ED/15IAS jewels as I possibly can. Should I also be saving the jewels from Hell Baal runs, or is there another place that has high item levels that I should be collecting from? The discussion further back regarding the use of the two sockets in Hellrack is making me revisit the use of jewels instead of runes for the weapon…unless there are better suggestions out there than the 40/15 jewels. The unique jewels (facets) is another option, but I think those might be harder to come by…I’m not sure since I never came across either type of jewel. Please advise. ---

I believe Hell Cows should be a decent place to look. I haven’t made it to cows in my limited 1.10 experience, so I’m not sure what the nerfs were there - but they have a clvl of 90 if they didn’t change that. Jewels should be fairly common there. ---

I hear that the Pit has a decently high ilvl;) In other news, the third zon is looking fairly decent at lvl 25. She’s doing 118-190 dmg with what I’d describe as B-grade gear. I’ll post the list again of what I need in the hopes that folks can find some of it - or, worst case, trade some pgems for it: ravenclaw U long bow Bloodfist U heavy gloves Iratha belt and ammy I think I’m OK on charms. ---

I need to get my fire sorc into some nm baal runs, as she’s only around lvl 52-ish, but once she gets to be around 75 or so i should be able to start doing some teleporting for rushes. It also depends on when i get my hands on Tal’s set, which will help enormously. I’m having a little trouble with computer #5, I’m hoping to get it running sometime tonight. I might be on to play a little tonight, we’ll have to see. I’ve been short on time lately, because i have a prelim exam to study for and i’ve been playing a lot of Enemy Territory. If someone wants to run a rush tonight though, i’ll be more than happy to help with my paladin, who can tank most things now (still waiting on a 5 socket caddy and a ber rune though). ---

The third level 40 char is done, which gives us at least four chars (as of early this AM) who can be used for a mule rush. I was trying to schedule one during runs earlier, but nobody responded. What’s everybody’s schedule like for, say, 7 PM EST? ---

I was getting a bit bored with my sorc. I had started putting points into Cold Mast(4) and Bliz(6) a little to early in the game(level 50ish) when I should have been maxing fireball. She was a little underpowered at level 79 in fire and couldn’t kill crap in Hell Baal Runs even with maxed Fire Mast and Meteor and 18 Fireball I could complete Hell Meph runs about 30% of the time without dying. My mf was around 130%. I couldn’t even teleport to the Frozen River without dying and Anya in Hell was outta reach. She was wearing duriels, 3 sock helm, rhyme, goldwrap, mf boots, and mf gloves. That’s when I started running NM Meph again last night. After about 5 runs a unique ring drops and in my mind I’m chanting “Perfect Nagel, Perfect Nagel, Perfect Nagel”. SOJ baby. My first ever. EVER. I’m now sportin’ a nice purple armour and a glowing aura. 🙂 ---

But it occured to me that I can easily do a full run with my sorc, provided that there’s a Conviction paladin around. And then it occured to me that the team paladin is a Conviction paladin. And _then_ it occured to me that there’s no reason to suppose that I’d be the one playing the pally, since he is, after all, a team character. This would mean only six first-levels, rather than the seven we could (in principle) get by switching out a sorc and the paladin at key points, but with **iampunha** having three level 40s stockpiled, this is hardly an issue. So to sum up, I’m ready, willing, and able to do the first mule rush, the one with the paladin. And in a5 normal and beyond, nobody but I and whoever is playing the paladin would have to lift a finger, beyond changing acts and joining new games. **theckhd** , would you be able to stay late enough to finish, on those terms? ---

I should (and my son) be able to be in the rush also, my level 79 amazon hasn’t even got the hell forge quest yet also, so she can lead a run as well (might be a little tough against hell meph and diablo), but I think I can pull it off… Do we have an Og\_Sockets character yet? If we don’t, I’ll burn one in and start loading him up with socketed weapons and armor. I have a 4s decapitator, 4s wyrmhide, and a superior (15ED) 2s hydra edge…was someone looking for one earlier? I also got my merc to finally equip the bonehew unique with 2 amns in the sockets so he should be killing virtually everything in 1 or 2 swings…(except physical immunes). ---

I’m not sure yet whether i’ll make it tonight. If i’m in, i could help with my sorc/paladin as needed to free up a mule slot for someone else. How many mules do we have though? so far i see Yeti Yeti’s son punha 2 rushing characters 2 mules for the 2 rushing players Assuming the rushing players can each get 2 clients online, that leaves one spot for someone else. If another doper wants that spot, i can skip tonight and maybe help with one this weekend. Or i can try and re-arrange my plans to join in tonight’s rush, if that’s what is needed. In any event, i definitely can’t make both nights.
