What I’m thinking now is to just do Pit runs for time time being unless someone else needs me to help with something. I can tank some with my javazon, or tank a lot with my necro. Of course there are trade-offs using each one, my zon kills well and the necro kills slowly. For power Meph runs the zon is better, for Baal runs the necro, is as long as there is someone there who can kill. For rushing, the zon is MUCH better at most things. Thanks to **Voltaire** , my necro’s magic find took a major jump. While doing Power Meph runs, he came upon a Gheed’s charm. Since he had one, he couldn’t pick up the new one. I got it and found that it had 35% mf. Since **vol’s** Gheeds was 38% I got to keep the 35%. Also he gave me a 32% mf War Travellers, which is a big step up from the 17% mf rare boots that I was wearing. I also want to thank **iampunha** here, he gave me the T-Gods for my zon. The +3 to LS and LF rock, and the lightning absorb helps too. I’ll usually be on either my numbnut or numbnut4 accounts. If anyone needs a hand, or just company, feel free to whisper me. ---

I should look into getting some mf eq. My asn tears through the pit in no time, but the drops are for shit since I don’t have a lick of mf. Kinda depressing. ---

I was able to level up twice last night/this AM. I hear tell that at clvl 90, one can gamble and get +2 skill amulets. So I think that is wher I will be doing. Also found, soloing baal after the party had gone (but I made sure I could not get the quest), the unique elegant blade. It is pretty, but nothing **Fenris** would want, I suspect. ---

OK OK, I found IK armor. I _thought_ it would be instantly tradeable for Tal armor, but apparently not. People trading Tal armor seem to want items that are so elite that they don’t exist yet. The armor fell in Pit Lvl2, same place as my Nats claw fell. In fact, it was nearly the first item to drop and it was right by the enterance to level 2. It was the first time that I actually found (not counting trading) either of those items in my Diablo career. Both items are also the only good items that I’ve found in the Pit. If you do the pit, don’t skip level 2…In fact, you might just want to skip level 1… ---

Eh, tonight I found the M’avine(…) gloves and an IK belt. Nothing else of consequence. Friggin lightning ghost things are out in force tonight, and they make Baal runs a huge pain so I’m turning in early tonight. ---

Thanks, **Fen**! I had been wondering what Thunderstroke would do. Now I have to mule that Corpsemourne over to her and get her the Thunderstroke… then see what she’ll do. My plan is to socket the armor. I haven’t decided yet what to put in the socket yet. I have an 8% resist all jewel, or I could just stick a rune in there (Ral?) to add 30% fire resistance, which is really the only place I’m low. Any opinions? The 8% will up my lightning resistance to 85%, so with the 20% lightning absorb from the T-Gods I should be able to survive (at least for a little while) those lightning enchanted, multiple shot bosses and maybe even a Gloam or two. ---

To keep yourself from getting the quest you have to have someone who has already gotten the quest create the game. That way yo ucan do the Baal killing and not get credit for beating him, thus allowing yourself to stay in NM or Norm and level. ---

I know that part, but **iampunha** said he was soloing. How’s it done when you’re the only one playing? The best I can come up with is to have another character you control who has killed Baal make the game, have him wait in it for five minutes, then go in with the character who hasn’t killed Baal, but that seems too convoluted for mf runs. ---

Yeah, I know. You just can’t see the norm and nm games that being played (on bnet) so it makes it much more inconvenient to join games. That’s why some of us don’t like to get that particular quest. Also, there is a bug such that when you don’t have the quest you can get much better drops from Baal and such. Solo I guess you don’t beat Baal and only take out the minions. I don’t know what post you are refering to… ---

I was referring to yours; **Munch** snuck in when I wasn’t looking. I was hoping for a way to get the first-time bonus for killing Baal more than once without a party, but your idea (killing only the minions) makes more sense. ---

The way I did it the time I got the BloodMoon was to join a game where I couldn’t get the quest (a lot of people got the Hell Baal quest and really shouldn’t have, since you can MF a lot more easily without it). When they all left to go to the next game, I noticed that A) I was therefor the only person in the room and B) I couldn’t get the quest. I might not have done it but one of my scourges has a %cast static field, and my gloves have a %cast lifetap, so I figured I would be safe. And a minute or two later I was right. BTW, I also have gimmershreds if anyone had designs on a throwbarb. And I picked up another Flamebellow and a Biggin Bonnet if anyone wants those. And I am now at level 89, so another hour or two of baal runs and I should be safe for gambling. I’ll tell my exciting story about the stranger in Stony Field later.
