I lived in Cincinnati for 9 years. I lived in Anderson Township, in south-east Hamilton County. Could any dopers tell me whatā€™s happened along Beechmont Ave. since we moved down here to Florida 2 years ago? We used to love going to Wongā€™s East (chinese food, corner of Beechmont and Markeley), Pizzaria Uno (in Beechmont Mall), and Jersey Mikeā€™s (subs), in a shopping center near, umā€¦ well, I canā€™t remember the name of the street, but itā€™s near a White Castle, Ground Round and Discovery Zone, and thereā€™s a small school/seminary behind it where I used to go to kindergarten. OK, Cleveland-area (and anyone else who wants to make the drive) Dopersā€“letā€™s have a to-do while Satan is here! I can think of a few places to go for an evening out that reflect the, er, ā€œlocal color.ā€ Downtown, thereā€™s any number of places in the Flats, like BW3, or Jillianā€™s, or Dickā€™s, or John Harvardā€™s brewpub. Thereā€™s the Great Lakes Brewing Co. on W. 25th, or on the East Side thereā€™s Tommyā€™s in Coventry, or any of the places in Little Italy. Ideas? Thoughts? Feedback? I was born in Patterson, raised in rodent ditch, I mean Beavercreek outside of Dayton. I try not to think about Dayton much, Beavercreek was a nice place, didnā€™t deserve Dayton. (BeaverCreek is near Huffman Prairie, where the Wrights did most of their flying) I now live in Sillycon Valley, more accurately San Jose/Milpitas. Iā€™d been thinking about reviving this thread for a while, but didnā€™t want the mods jumping on me for doing it. Since itā€™s already up, thoughā€¦ Raised in Beavercreek: I used to skip school and go to the Wright Patterson Air Force Museum. Went to college at The Ohio State University: man, youā€™ve got to love the Buckeyes! Any school that has itā€™s own police force, hospital and _power plant_ is okay in my book. 65,000 students a day canā€™t be wrong! First job was in Toledo, though I lived in Perrysburg: ahhhh, the Glass City. LOF, Corning, Owens-Illinois and Guardian. Home of the Jeep, the Mudhens and Tony Packos pickled peppers! Good stuff. Got suckered into moving to North Carolina for the summer, but managed to get back and now all my stuff is in Columbus again. Woohoo! ---

Fomerly Cleveland Heights: Mitchellā€™s Candy Store; Strohā€™s beer; Forest Hills Park playing Little League with Skippy Stone (now Cubs broadcaster); taking the Rapi to see the Tribe play; flying out of Cuyahoga County Airport; East Ohio Gasā€™s ā€œBest Location in the Nationā€ ads; Cedar Point for the post-prom party. I still remember the old telephone exchange YEllowstone-2-XXXX. Iā€™m surprised that there hasnā€™t been at least one ā€œGo Tribeā€ post. Lots of Tribe fans in the current ā€˜Baseballā€™ thread.
