- Anything American when compared to the “not watered down, dumbed down and sanitized” version of the equivalent outside of the US. Taken to its extreme, we get … "Oh, American food is so much better in Europe. It’s not watered down or dumbed down for the masses like it is in the US. It’s just so much more _authentic_ there - Any restaurant chain, except those with more than 25 branches, those not located in their hometown, and those based out of their hometown. “Chipotle used to be awesome, until they sold out and opened so many new restaurants. Now I prefer Freebirds.” “Chipotle is so awesome! It sucks that we don’t have any here.” “I’m from Denver, and I think Chipotle is so awesome!” - It’s also important to know what the GOOD mega-chains are. Target, IKEA (European, so of course it’s more authentic and real than American chains), H&M (see IKEA), Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and Wegman’s to name a few. ---

The movie “Crash” seems to get a lot of hate on these boards. Personally, I didn’t think it was that bad, at least not so bad that I feel the need to bring it up anytime there’s a thread about movies that suck. ---
