The most depressing thing about him criticising Michelle Obama is that she can’t win. If she were stick thin, he’d complain about liberal elitists being out of touch with reality. If she were fat, that’d make her a “hypocrite”. Or draw comparisons to Hitler from the Competitive Enterprise Institute. In reality, the rich can afford private nutritionists, fitness instructors and more expensive nutrients. They are also more likely to have benefited from a private education where they received a good backing in nutrition and facts about exercise. The poor are less likely to have access to any of these things, will rely on the heavily subsidised corn based products at Wal-Mart and may not have time between working to prepare balanced meals for their families. Michelle Obama recognises that to solve an epidemic problem (obesity) one needs to address structural reasons (lack of adequate information, free reign of advertising, cost/benefit analysis for unhealthy food) - because she empathises with those that don’t have access to the considerable perks of being rich. ---

He has enough money to hire a trainer and a personal nutritionist and a personal chef. Hell, he could pay someone to knock cookies out of his hand, if he wanted to. He’s a slug. I hope this puts him out of business. ---

Upon further reflection I’ll tone it down. When referring to the disgusting, corpulent, vile, hypocrite I’ll stick to the terms “repulsive” and “gooey”. I actually met the fat (oops, excuse me) fuck some years ago. He is gooey. And its not the goo that you can easily wash off. He sort of leaves a sticky slime. It’s as if BP created a disaster around you. ---

Someone was equivocating between Democrat talk show hosts and Republican ones, saying that [Randi Rhodes](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randi_Rhodes#Departure_from_Air_America) pulled the same thing. Except she was talking about a fellow Democrat and she was actually fired, so I’m not sure what their point was. I’d also never heard of her before the guy brought it up, whereas I’ve known about Rush for a long time living in the U.K. ---
