I think many of these people are ugly, only in comparison with the truly beautiful celebrities. Take Sarah Jessica Parker for example, she is exceptionally ugly for a leading lady, but if you compare [her](http://prafulla.net/wp-content/sharenreadfiles/2011/02/sarah-jessica-parker-looks-like-a-horse-03.jpg) with the average forty-something woman, you’ll realise she is far more beautiful than average. ---

I thought Renee Zellweger was pretty in ‘Me, Myself, and Irene’, but kinda weird looking pretty much everywhere else. ---

Whoever the woman was in the video for that horrible “Blurred Lines” song by Robin Thicke. For some reason \*GQ Magazine \*was obsessed with her, showing her picture in about five straight issues. It was one of many reasons I dropped my _GQ_ subscription after one year. ---

No, I won’t; not “far”, not “more”, not “beautiful”, not “average”. You’re forgetting that I’ve _seen_ forty-something women. I rarely mistake them for Benedict Cumberbatch. ---

So an actor can seem much better looking if he’s playing a cool character (granted, Tom’s acting _helped make_ Loki cool, but my point stands). Consider also Hugh Laurie (House). He didn’t get much notice from the hunnez most of his career playing likeable, posh dimwits. But make him a brooding, acerbic, genius doctor… ---

When you are only judging looks like in this thread that is overlooked. Hugh Laurie as Bertie Wooster isn’t very attractive. Hugh Laurie in person or sitting behind a piano oozes charisma. ---

I’ve heard this a lot before, but it usually turns out that most guys’ definition of “jerk” is “the guy who is shtupping the woman I want to shtup.” Also, in my personal and very specific experience, guys who _say_ this are jerks.
