# Allright...this weather has simply gotten ridiculous now...

North Central Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth Metro) has gone 73 days now with no rain, the longest in recorded history for this area. The temperature has been over 100 for at least 60 of those days and we have broken historical temperature records almost every day for two months.
This isn’t just a bad drought, its dangerous.
Expected temperature for today is 101, I think thats about 10 degrees higher than the current record. No rain forcasted anytime soon, and no hope for anything but hellish heat for the next couple weeks.
Does it ever end?

Hey, at least it ain’t about 110 anymore…
I’m in Richardson, and my car has no A/C. Of course, I haven’t driven a car with A/C in my entire life, so I’m a little used to it, plus I grew up in Southeast Texas.

I’m a product of poverty… I’m actually pretty well off right now, for a college kid. I could afford to get the A/C fixed, but I’d be broke for a few months, and the weather’s about to get better anyway. In a year or so I’ll buy a new car and give my hoopty to the baby brother, so then I’ll be a full-on city-slicker with my fangled aero-conditioning.

Heh… 111. Hottest temp I’ve ever had the misfortune to experience.
You know the weather sucks when you and your friends are all commenting to each other when the temperature _dips_ into the mid-lower 90’s.
This weekend looks to be relatively cool- Friday’s highs are supposed to be in the \*\* UPPER 80’S! \*\*
Personally, I’m hoping that it when it finally rains, that it rains sometime when people aren’t driving. Just imagine the wrecks that the mud/oil/water emulsion on roads will cause after 73+ days without rain… not even taking into account the brain-dead DFW drivers!

Well, that much rain is a bummer… but my electric bill this month is over $350 and my water bill is $100. Ouch

Hit 109 in Houston on Labor Day and what was I doing? Outside skating. Not my choice but a friend of mine is learning and wants to go out. Skated about 11 miles in the middle of the day. It really was no problem, but ONLY because I had a water back-pack filled with iced water.
Skated from Alabama@Sheppard to downtown. Had a beer at the Brewery Tap along with about 3 ice-waters. Then skated back.
Wednesday outside felt downright cool, it only hit the low 90’s. A breeze actually felt cool.

You handle it better than I do, cooldude. I’ve been waiting until 6 to play a couple hours of tennis and then skating when I get home for another hour. By the time I’m done it’s dark and a cool 90 degrees. Woohoo.

We are suffering right along with you. The forcast for L.A. is 91 which means it’ll be 101 in my beautiful San Fernando Valley. I get reeeeaaalllyy cranky when it’s hot.

I heard somewhere (on CNN?) that there are no drought restrictions in place, even though you guys are as dry as a bone at this point. Is this true? If so, WTF?!? Hasn’t there been any discussion about depleting aquifer reserves for the sake of keeping the lawn green?

SkySlash, come up to Kansas! It’s about 75 degrees here now and is only supposed to be in the mid 80s for the next week. It’s quite a switch for us. The last few weeks it’s been 95-105+ degrees. At least our humidity is low. (most of the time.)

Fillet, your info is wrong. Austin is under Level 2 water restrictions (can only water lawns on specific days) and San Antonio is under Level 3, no outdoor watering at all.
The nearby town of Pfleugerville is now buying its water from Austin, since they went dry a few weeks ago. Many of the lakes in the area are severely under normal levels, some by as much as **20** feet.
The heat is due to break soon, but the lack of rain is still severe. ☹

Thanks for the correct info, Freyr. It just seemed unreal to me that restrictions wouldn’t go into place, but the reporter never mentioned a word about it - all they showed was shots of sprinklers going full blast.
