Has anyone mentioned Jordan Almonds? One of my faves. I remember something called “Peanut Bar” (I think). Not the same as a Payday, just peanuts welded together with sweet stuff, not as crunchy as peanut brittle. I haven’t seen those for awhile. ---

I know Hershey’s isn’t everyone’s favorite candy, but I like Hershey’s Miniatures. When I was little I always left the dark chocolate, but I enjoy them now. ---

The “Take Five” bar is really a wonderful glorious mess. “Pretzels thrown in? Sure! Why not?” Also a huge fan of Hot Tamales and Bit O’Honey. ---

Walgreens carries Chunky candy. I saw it on the shelves a couple months ago. I was buying a bag of lifesavers. I don’t see Chunky at other stores. Just Walgreens. ---

We are used to it, they arent.’ Vomit is likely a baseless accusation, but “strange, off, unusual” are all what I have heard Euros say. OTOH, cheap Euro choco tastes waxy to me, like cheap easter bunnies. ---

It’s not a baseless accusation. Get it into stores fast before Emeril and his ilk find out. Not sure if they’re still around, but used to love **[Marathon](http://www.oldtimecandy.com/walk-the-candy-aisle/curly-wurly-marathon-bar/)** bars–a double helix of caramel with a chocolate covering. They used to be the size of three credit cards laid end-to-end and a half inch thick. Dinosaurs loved 'em. You can still get **[Goo Goo Clusters](http://googoo.com/about/whats-a-goo-goo/)**, particularly at Cracker Barrel. I like the pecan version best. ---

Not sure if I was just more sensitive to it that particular day (certain days I’m more sensitive to some flavors than others) or I had a particularly strong batch, but the flavor was unmistakable. I don’t mean like, oh, this stuff is so gross it tastes like puke, but literally, there was the background flavor like what is left in your mouth after you vomit. I actually Googled it (as I had never heard this description of Hershey’s before this) only to find that I wasn’t the only one, and learned of the sour milk or whatever it is that is used in their chocolate making to give it that tang. So, it’s definitely not a flavor people are making up to disparage American milk chocolate or something like that–it’s there, and it tastes literally faintly of vomit to some people. I don’t really notice it now unless I’m concentrating on it.
