As to this part: _“Attempts to “out” trolls on the SDMB will not be tolerated from this day forth.”_ I applaud that wholeheartedly. (3) I think you closed that thread in error, since you failed to notice that it was against the troll outing of Danielinthewolvesden; I’m on YOUR side and still got broadsided. But leave it closed. The comments engendered were uniformly worthless. ---

The points I made were not directed at you specifically, Mu Mu. Except for the sig line, obviously. And I wasn’t trying to broadside anyone. I have been meaning to make those points clear to the SDMB community over all. If anyone finds a poster with a possible identity crisis let us mods know over email. We have the resources and the power to find out what the sam scratch is going on. As usual, the cooperation of the SDMB is greatly appreciated here at Evil Mod HQ. 😃 ---

Well, Alpha, when I posted my PRISM02 outing, I was in the middle of an IM conversation with Ed Zotti. He was well aware of what I was doing, and didn’t tell me I was doing anything wrong. I IMed him that day specifically to tell him I was going to be posting the thread, because I wanted to bring it to his and Tuba’s attention. It was also important, I thought, that the other posters realized that the person they would be dealing with in other threads might not be a former banned troll. Anyway, the important part of this is that I had Ed’s knowledge before I even posted the thread, and he never once told me I was doing anything wrong. So if this is a new amendment to the SD rules, I’d like to see some sort of notice from Ed or Tuba. And if it’s not–well, forgive me if I don’t censor myself on your account. You’ll find I don’t do this sort of thing willy-nilly–only when it’s warranted. And I will stand by my opinion that it was warranted until I hear otherwise. ---

Ed and Tuba make the official rules regarding what can and can’t be done on this board. I never intended it to be an amendment to the SDMB rules and I realize now that I phrased my statement poorly and far too generally. I overreacted and made a comment far broader than I should have. I tried to put out a small fire and subsequently gave the false impression that I have the power to make the rules. But there _has_ been a trend of posters publicly and falsely accusing other posters of not being who they say. It created a lot of confusion, to say the least. It also has the potential to piss a lot of people off. I wanted to discourage that activity in my forum. Especially since the negative aspects can be avoided by email to a mod. Let’s just say that you weren’t the first to notice similarities between Prism and Serlin, Drain. I’m not saying that your suspicions are unfounded. And I appreciate your initiative and your desire to point out a violation of board rules. I’m half Italian, I appreciate loyalty. 🙂 I just don’t want a trend starting in the Pit. Alphagene
