You could use your [flip-flop](http://shop.reef.com/fanning/d/1019). Just don’t step on a pop top. Or, better yet, just cruise on back home and make sure there’s some booze in your blender.

This guy goes to a brothel and asks for a six pack of beer and the toughest girl in the house. When they both arrive, she shucks off her nightie and gets on all fours on the floor with her business end towards him.

“I know you’re tough but I still want to use the bed”

“We will. This is for you to open your beer.”

Yep. A spoon. A butter knife. A stick. A key. Etc. You just need to position your fingers right for a sturdy and tight fulcrum and you’re good to go. Back when at least one member of your drinking party could be depended on to be a smoker and thus carried a lighter with them, that was the usual implement to use. When using keys, I use the side of the head of the key. It’s a bit trickier, being such a short lever, but once you get it down, it’s easy.

Actually, trying it out again with my keys (as it’s been awhile I’ve tried it this way, since I have a bottle opener on my keychain), it really depends on the shape of the key. I can’t do it with the more square headed ones, but the rounded ones are okay. The reason I say side of the head of the key is because these new-fangled keys tend to be on the flimsy side. If you have a good old-fashioned brass key, use it the long way and you won’t have to be concerned about it breaking. The easiest for me, though, is a spoon if one is available.

one gives way and the other might be slightly deformed on the edge but still tight.

it the rare event you are burdened with drinking two beers before they both go flat. sometimes life is rough.

I’ve also done it with a piece of folded paper, as demonstrated [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00DWLkVLbd4). The key tends to be getting it the first time, otherwise you tear up the paper and it loses its structural integrity to be able to be firm enough to pop the cap open.

As a teenager, I actually did use my teeth. A couple of years ago I had a molar extracted, but it had been uncomfortable for maybe 20 years.

Yep. It was the beer opening molar.

I tried that with 8.5"x11", and was met with poor results. Judging from the guy’s accent, should I try again with A4?

I just tried it with a regular sheet of copy paper (20lb) 8.5"x11", with no difficulty. [See here.](http://www.pawinskiphotography.com/public/beerpaper.mov) (I’m going to regret posting that, ain’t I?)

I never leave the house without two bottle-openers, designed for that purpose, on my person. Hey, my pocketknife and my multitool have some redundancy between them, OK?

There’s usually some way I can pry a bottle cap off using the door latch mechanism on a car. Ditto the tailgate latch on a pickup. I used my boat propeller once (it wasn’t running).

I have a bottle opener on every key ring, and attached to every cooler we own. But I can also use a Bic.
