Also, I forget what the bomb load of the Heinkel He-177 _Greif_ was meant to be, but that was another stab they had at a heavy bomber. By the way, if you want to talk about _heavy_ bombers, we had the Avro Lancaster over here - versions of which dropped the “Grand Slam” U-boat-pen spoiler… weighing in at a cool 10 tons (22,000lb). On t’other hand, they had nothing like the range of the B29. ---
