Alternatives to Android / Google and escaping the AI deluge

I also think it’s based on your Drive/Google One plan. I had a student discount on a 1 TB + AI plan. The storage is nice, but that plan unfortunately also comes with unremovable Gemini buttons added to every app (and especially Gmail, where it takes the place of where the Archive button used to be… so I hit it by accident all the time, grrrrrr!). Major dark pattern. Google is just desperate for relevance in the ChatGPT era, I guess…

I have additional image storage that comes with my Pixel on on my personal google drive. Our business uses Google Workspace for email, webpage, cloud storage and documents, spreadsheets, calendar etc.

Even with AI turned off completely from the admin console it is fucking everywhere. It is the first line / button in emails, new docs, directory view, EVERYTHING.

Even on my phone email the the AI icon is on the top of the page. Not present when I switch to my personal account.

To fix this, you can go to your YouTube watch history and remove any of the vids that you did watch that were AI. There’s even a convenient search.

Thanks @BigT

I have used the Not Interested option on videos. Click the three stacked dots for video options. But your suggestion would be more permanent by erasing history

Best Microsoft Slam I have seen in years. The Greenies out there who hammer on about carbon foot prints should consider how much carbon and work productivity has been wasted by mankind since Windows95 release thanks to Microsoft’s terrible software.
