Yep, youre an asshole… but mostly because I just read the “Am I an asshole” part 1. After reading that I cant seperate the two… ---

I’ve donated home and personal care items such as shampoo and floor cleaner (the product labels were off-centre but the contents were fine). The food bank manager was taken aback at first but then said, “Heck, why not. These people need all the help they can get.” Oh, and the OP isn’t an asshole and I vote with the “hand 'em out on the street periodically, if you can carry them without temptation” suggestions. ---

Another vote for “not and asshole” - If the homeless Santa thing isn’t an idea that resonates with you, how about sending them off to our troops? You could probably find someone in your town who puts together care packages, you could just drop the whole lot with them and they would take care of the rest! ---

I feel the same way about almost everyone else who responded in that thread. Guy does something unintentionally shitty: not an asshole A bunch of people gang up on someone to insult them and try to make them feel like shit:Assholes Thing is, I don’t like being a judgmental prick, so I intentionally am not trying to remember most of their names. And the more I see how shitty people acted back then, I actually wonder why nobody went nuclear and used the one option that would get this place shut down. ---

You’ve almost inspired me to smoke again, which I would almost surely do if someone gave me free cartons of cigs. What kind of cigs are they? ---

I vote for selling them to bars. Don’t enable bad habits without taxing people for the service. Unless it’s the VFW. Then you should give them away. They’ve been taxed enough. ---

12 step meetings are also a great place to pass out cigarettes. If you’ve never been, you wouldn’t believe the chain smoking at AA meetings. ---

You’re not an asshole, but I don’t think offering to donate the cigarettes was a good idea. Homeless people have enough problems without adding all the many health problems associated with smoking. Just throw those damn coffin nails away. ---
