I have the vague feeling that I’m wrong for laughing but . . . Well I think the first three are adorable, and that last one is a PhotoShopPup. My neighbors have a Corgi/Shepherd mix and he’s super cute (although I hope that was an oopsie and someone didn’t breed that mix on purpose). He looks a lot like the one in the first picture, only bigger ears. ETA: Or maybe they are all PhotoShops. That first one now looks a bit suspicious to me. I went back to check the ears. ---

Why anybody would pollute a Dachshund with any mongrel is beyond me. But hey, you can’t stop them! You better lock up your dogs, wives, daughters and sisters. Doxie is on the loose! ---

A while back, there was a story about a Chihuahua that got a Rottweiler pregnant. I remember reading a column in Reader’s Digest, when amusing classified ads were sent in. _Free puppies: Mother, St. Bernard, Father, very determined Cocker Spaniel_ My father had a dog for twelve years that he picked up as a stray and somehow never had time to take it to the shelter. We have no way of actually knowing what the parents were, but the best guess is half yellow Lab, and half Bassett Hound. this dog had the heavy and long body, with short legs, that a Bassett had, and when he bayed at sirens he sure sounded like a Bassett. But his head was shaped like a Lab and he was yellow, Dad picked him up the summer of 1977 and named him Fred, for Jerry Reed’s dog in “Smokey and the Bandit” which was popular that summer. ---

The other parent is a pitbull. Puggles are an interesting and relatively common mix that somehow lose most of the pug parent’s weirdness. ---

I’m a fan of crossbreed/mongrel dogs as family pets - I think pure breeds can be noble and fine, but I prefer something that’s a bit of this and a bit of that. ---

I once met a corgi/shepherd cross in person, at an adoption fair. He had been rescued from an abusive home, and I felt bad for laughing at him, but by Og, he looked ridiculous! ---

Someone in my neighborhood has an Australian shepherd/corgi mix. It’s pretty ridiculous looking but when I encounter them walking my dogs, I have to be polite and not laugh. It seems like a nice dog. (“But she has a wonderful personality!” 😃 ) ---

Quite a few years ago I met one of the weirdest looking dogs I have ever seen. My boss brought him to work one day after a vet visit. His mother was her Rottweiler and his father was the neighbor’s Dachshund who had dug a tunnel under the fence. He was the only pup that survived so she named him Lucky. Lucky the Rottweenie. No, I don’t know how anything called a Rottweenie could be lucky. He had the Rottweiler coloring and thick body with stumpy legs and huge feet. He was also cross eyed. At one point he got hold of her purse and took off with it. The memory of watching him “run” makes me lol to this day. ---
