I wasn’t trying to win you over. I calls 'em like I sees 'em. But allow me to point out that “now that you have [denied being ignorant and fearful], we know your position is sound” suffers from the same malady as your original assertion: It doesn’t make any sense.

In New York, possession of less than 25g ,( first or second offense )isn’t even a misdemeanor…it’s a civil offense with a fine of $100.00 for 1st offense and $200.00 for 2nd offense. In contrast, I recently got a $165.00 ticket for talking on my cell phone in a traffice jam.

You can plead by mail, just like a traffic ticket and you don’t have a criminal record and you can tell prospective employers you’ve never been arrested without worrying about perjury.
