This one is great. Every day I come in and one of the first things I do is to check out the day’s Mr. Boffo cartoon. It seems like I’m the only one. Does no one appreciate the brilliance of this comic strip? ---

I always dislike it when the cartoonist feels the need to include a "Another way to tell … " caption when his cartoon didn’t really need any clarification. He really overwrites his jokes. ---

I like Mr. Boffo a lot, and I [interviewed Joe Martin](http://www.comixpedia.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1535&mode=thread&order=0&thold=0) recently. Incdidentally, he messed up the joke in today’s (April 19’s) strip, if I understood the joke correctly (he should have chosen a crime that’s usually done when nobody’s around, like stealing jewels from a museum). I agree that the caption intros aren’t always the best idea, and I do wish I had asked him why he has a ‘typical’ horizontal strip when he almost always presents his jokes as a single panel. But I didn’t think of that one in time. But yeah, he has one of the most different senses of humor in the syndicated world. ---

The guy isn’t stealing the toaster – he’s just looking for somewhere to plug it in, and finding an outlet in ancient times is a task even harder than Diogenes’ task of finding an honest man. ---

OOPS! I thought **bup** was referring to the strip linked in the OP, when that’s actually a strip from a few days ago.
