# Am I the victim of spyware?

So about thirty seconds ago, I was flipping through the Boards, when I clicked on a thread, and instead of the thread I expected, I get a web page that says, “Sorry we couldn’t find the page you are looking for. Try [Perfectnav.com](http://Perfectnav.com), the Internet’s newest search engine.”
What in God’s name could be causing that? Is it because I looked at some porn? Or is it because of some other reason?

I wholeheartedly agree to the Spybot. Adaware seemed to miss some stuff, but Spybot cured all my problems. In case you don’t have it: [Adaware](http://www.lavasoftusa.com/) and [Spybot](http://www.safer-networking.org/). Check out the forums on those places too. If the programs can’t fix your problem, then most likely someone on those forums can. It sounds like some program has taken of your browser (called ‘hijacking’).
Oops, just realized that neither have forums on their website. Look up HijackThis for good forums. It’s another small program that can be useful for detecting spyware/adware.
