Yeah, everyone looks like a porn star in Maxim. Regardless, Amanda looks hot–but the video is best watched the the sound on “mute.” She may be 23, but she still acts and talks like a 16-year-old. ---

Okay, weird. I’ve known Amanda’s family since she was something like 7-8 years old. Her father was our family dentist for close to two decades, and I went to high school with her older brother. I never met her personally, but every dentist visit I heard about her. (Well, heh–initially, it was all about her brother and his bids for the entertainment world. It was, “Tommy Tommy Tommy!” Then, eventually, it shifted to “Amanda Amanda Amanda!”) He had a wall of fame in his office that was a collection of photos of Amanda posing with various stars on the red carpet, presumably from her Amanda Show days. He was remarkably candid talking about her and her life in Hollywood. We watched her grow (via photos and stories) from a little girl trying to make it, to her first big break, to the Amanda Show, to the movies, to the sitcom…to her dad suddenly retiring and going with her to Canada as she filmed a movie. Boo. He was a great dentist; very skilled, very funny, and very generous. He was a huge help to my dad in his final years. We were heartbroken when he retired, but understood. Dangit. Anyway, seeing her like this is…odd. It’s like seeing a friend’s kid sister all slutted up. I suppose in a way, that’s just what this is. But, good for her I guess. It is disappointing to see she got bolt-ons, though. ---

Oh, and ditto on watching the video on mute. She is normally no where near that stupid sounding in interviews. Either she is that stupid and has masked it well (which would surprise me, as her parents and brother are quite bright), or she played up the stupid to go with the porn star look. Sheesh. ---

Re: the boob. I’m guessing the Bra she’s wearing is one of those ‘This is the fancy type that can be worn as ‘outside’ clothing’ type bras. I don’t mean literally wear it over the top of the ‘top’ but I mean it’s ‘meant’ to be ok to be ‘hanging out’ I could be wrong though and she’s just blazenly showing an entire boob. ---

Okay, I totally had no idea who she was and had to look her up on Wikipedia. … Nope, still couldn’t pick her up out of a lineup. Oh, she was Penny Pingleton in the film version of _Hairspray_?
