It seems we’ve come ~~fulll~~ semi-circle from the Ancient Greek theater masks used to convey the full meaning to the audience. And, according to [one school of thought,](https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcTRFDOvLxHazM_qn8UKe6BSc4BkzjZ97eKhRYBYI1aKfQ&s=10) the butthole is the window to the soul (a school whose acolytes included Marlon Brando and Jackie Stallone). So in yet another way we’re way ahead of the schedule set in _Idiocracy_, where not only is “Ass” a hit movie, but we also plumb its depths for the subtle nuances fraught therein. ---

I’m reminded of the time my husband was ranting about (apartment) neighbors getting high in the hallways, where our 6-yr-old could get a contact high, and at some point, he coined the phrase “Higher than a giraffe’s asshole.” ---

There’s no shortage of films where people use prosthetic organs to avoid over-sharing. I’m thinking of _Nymphomaniac_ as one. Whatever you can think of, there’s a fake one in there somewhere. I do wonder how much value there is in avoiding shame if it looks convincingly like your own stuff, but I guess it does put limits on how much intimate exposure there can be among the cast & crew. I’m recalling back in the 80’s when there was a big sensation about the movie _Basic Instinct_ and Sharon Stone and Michael Douglas decided to “go commando” in their sex scene. Everybody was like wow, that’s so racy, and I’m like nah, they’re probably already involved off-screen. Made you look, though! ---
