…on a Sunday Drive."

Dang, that’s a long title!

I’m mostly starting this thread so that I can be in the loop when the real chatter starts. But here we are, ready to pick up where the TBC left us off…

There go the Chos. Though I liked them, their complete failure to realize that they had reached a point in the race where it no longer made any sense **at all** to maintain an alliance really started to get on my nerves.

At the same time, team 'Bama was really buggin me too with the complaining about the Chos not knowing where they were going, but not actually doing anything\*\* at all\*\* to help.

Now there are four teams left that I don’t care about at all. Oh well. If nothing else, maybe an all female team will finally win the race.

I have to say, this detour seems to have a highly dramatic one task which would be more enjoyable (for me) if tedious and potentially very time-consuming, and one task which is emotionally and mentally challenging, but theoreticaqlly not very time consuming.

And as of right now, we’ve got a team doing each.

Team Alabama finally figured out that the worst place to be in a five-team race is waiting patiently behind team #4 while they ask for directions.

“The Chos need to learn to run their own race”?

Run their own race? The CHOS need to learn to run their own race?

The ‘Lyns wouldn’t even still _be_ here if the Chos had run their own race instead of everyone else’s on their alliance. It’s all fine and good to tell the Chos to run their own race NOW when their usefulness to you is done. You’ve just spent the best part of 9 1/2 legs riding on the Chos’ coattails.

That said, I must note that if tonight’s dithering and stopping and direction-asking is typical and has just been edited out to this point, the Chos deserve to lose. Damn…

I know the smart play is to never take the needle-in-a-haystack Detour, but I think it would take more than a million dollars to get me to rap on television.

No kidding. The Chos held on to the alliance FAR too long. They simply never had a competitive spirit; they were clear that they were in the race more for the social aspect. Because of that, I’m not sorry to see them go.

I **really** want Alabama to get eliminated, as they don’t have much competitive spirit either. As I recall, they’ve never finished in the top 3 on any leg, including last week’s half-leg. Had the Cho Bros. not waited for Alabama after the Roadblock, the Alabama Mamas might have caught the next plane to Sequesterville – who knows?

I’m a bit miffed that the groups in Kiev were determined largely by which flight got in first, but since the flights were scheduled to arrive at the same time, I’ll chalk that up to the normal uncertainty of the race. OTOH, I was thrilled that James & Tyler and the Beauty Queens started the Detour at the same time, which left the finishing order up to pure racing, with the added uncertainty that T&J took the random-hunt option.

Rob & Kimberly are still begging for a meltdown on the mat, but at this point I think they may make it into the final three and not give us a public break-up. Just my guess.

I missed the first half hour of tonight’s ep, but from what I saw, I didn’t miss much. Chos, Chos, Chos, what were you thinking? That you needed to prove that nice guys finish last?

4 teams left, but only 3 are really competitive, and I’m shocked and surprised that the model boys have learned to navigate!

Dude, you missed the _tanks_.

Clearly well past time for the Chos to go, but it’s also well past time for the \*lyns to go, so either of them going was fine. However, the way they went out really sucked. They may or may not have been able to beat out Bama to the mat, but to lose because they got held up by the damn cops was so damn anti-climactic.

Yup. That task was _awesome_. There isn’t much on the Race that I _don’t_ want to do – gross eating challenges excepted – but this might be one of the coolest things _ever_. Tanks! And mud! _Sweeeeet_.

Like **jsgoddess** , I find myself in the _highly unexpected_ position of cheering for Rob & Kimberly at this point, and you all know how I feel about Reality Show Robs. (_Caveat_: I did not see TAR1 when it first aired, but I would have cheered for Rob & Brennan – and more likely than not, they would have lost, because of my involvement.) Dustin & Kandice and Tyler & James just annoy the _everloving snot_ out of me, and don’t even get me _started_ on Lyn & Karlyn, because there just _isn’t enough time_.

Which isn’t to say that Rob & Kimberly are my _ideal_ choices for the winners. Is there any hope that perhaps Phil and the cool Ukraine greeter could run off somewhere with the million and have a helluva time?

Please. As if a million dollars could pay for a month’s supply of moustache wax for that guy.

As far as who I’m rooting for at this point, I gotta give the nod to Tyler and James, with Rob and Kim a weak second. I cannot abide the Bama Brats and the BQs, while running an overall excelent race, are just getting nastier and nastier as the race goes on. Rob and Kimberly are kinda nasty too but their nastiness is directed inward and they somehow make it work.

This is why I’m rooting for them. I mean, I prefer that they _not_ be nasty, but they seem friendly enough to everyone else, so I’ll take what I can get, I guess.

This line was all I saw in my email notice that someone had replied, and I somehow got it into my head that you were snarking on one of the Bama moms.

My favorite greeter is still the one who was in **Budapest!Hungary!** a few seasons back. (I always say “a few seasons back” when I don’t know specifically when something happened on this show. I know that I can count on someone getting all Rainman on me and telling us which season, which episode, the date it aired, and what the relative humidity along the Eastern seaboard was on that date).

Even though Rob and Kimberly are my team in the office pool, they annoy me no end and I cannot root for them. I can’t stand The Blondes. And Team 'Bama? Don’t get me started! So that leaves the Recovering Addict Boys! And I don’t like them much either.

The Chos made me so angry I wanted to throw something at them. They had the potential to win this thing but they mistakenly tied themselves to some concrete block loser teams and now they have to suffer the consequences.

I don’t think I’m going to watch any more of this Race.

(Yeah, that resolve should last about 10 minutes. . . or until next Sunday, whichever comes first.)

I said the same thing to my husband last night. We love to imitate the Hungary guy.

The Chos are flat-out dumb. They should’ve high-tailed it out of the tank training ground parking lot when they had the chance. When the race began, I had really high hopes for them. They seemed like a smart, physically capable team with a good existing relationship. Damn was I wrong.
