What is the proper pronunciation of “Keiv”?
I thought it was kee-ev, and I noticed some locals pronounced it that way. But keeev, was used just as often.
It’s kee-ev. The airline ticket agent in Helsinki pronounced it keeve, which may be how they say it in Finland…and it infected some of the teams, who should’ve known better.

I was hoping Rob & Kimberly would hop on a flight to Moscow, but they unfortunately asked somebody who knows more than they do.

I just want to add…

I WANNA DRIVE A TANK!!

Bama got on my last nerve…your strategy is to play follow-the-leader, and then complain when the leader isn’t going fast enough. I’m liking the BQ’s more and more.

I cried all my bitter tears when the dirty filthy hippes won last season …
I’m rooting for the Models because I love a love story.
I loved the filthy dirty Hippies. Although they did try a bit too hard to be funny.
But I still like the BQs best of what’s left this season.
The Models are a close second.

And like **jsc1953** , I WANNA DRIVE A TANK, TOO!!
Damn, that looked like fun.
See, I gotta call BS on this. The Models maybe aren’t the sharpest bulbs in the cabbage patch but they’re smart enough to know that they’re in a RACE and that when you’re in a RACE it’s vitally important that you RACE. I’m sure the Chos are perfectly lovely people if one were to meet them socially, but I’m afraid if I ever did meet them socially I would smack them each in their heads because they refused to RAAAAACE.
OK, I see your point, but not RAAAAAAACing =! stupid. Don’t get me wrong: the Six-Pack alliance is one of the worst strategic moves in the history of _ever_. And, you know, you don’t _really_ need to be particularly smart to win this race (see: Chris & Alex), so I don’t know _what_ my hangup is. I don’t _dislike_ the Models, I just … don’t like them, in kind of the same way I don’t like artichokes, I guess. I mean, dress them up in tuxes or, say, mix them with cheese and turn them into a _scrumptious_ hot dip, and they’re perfectly fine. Otherwise, they’re kind of a non-entity, I guess. I mean, they have a story, but it’s kind of _boring_ to me. (Not that the Chos’ story was all that tantalizing, either, so note to self: _WHAT-ever_.)

So, in summary: the Chos’ style of play might have been better suited for Survivor, but I fear they’d never make it to Tribal Council, because where do you stop for directions in the middle of the South China Sea?

I don’t mind the BQs so much. I was irritated with them leaving the crashed car, and the ticket thing, but other than that, I’m mostly irritated with their eyelash fluttering, and helpless act, when they are quite capable racers without out all of the pathetic man aide.

Have we been watching the same show? I haven’t seen anything resembling a helpless act from them. 😕

They aren’t helpless. That’s the whole point. Much like robo-leg using her leg to get on a plane first, it’s annoying to see perfectly capable people _acting_ helpless when they aren’t. The girls flirt and flutter at every stop to get some sucker to ride with them and give them directions/help/tickets/money.It pisses me off because they don’t \*need \* to do this, they just do it reflexively.

No, I don’t see anything resembling a helpless act either, but they have resorted to a bit of very harmless giggly-type flirting when needed. The fact that they’re blonde and young and pretty just helps. The 'Bama Moms obviously resent this.

I’m probably oversensitive after watching the insider videos. In the insider videos there’s one of the most embarrassing displays of airport begging ever. They practically have this middle aged French man touching himself, while giving them money. So now, every time they approach someone for help, I cringe.

I pretty much feel about the same regarding the BQs as the Models, but the BQs have just done a few more minor things to earn my antipathy, so of the remaining teams, I’m kind of pulling for the Models. (Was one of them pinching the other on the arm at the mat last night?)

I screwed up my DVR settings trying to account for the time the other shows ran over, so we missed the end. I’ve gotten that the Chos lost, but was there anything interesting in the period of time between when they completed the musical task and when they arrived at the mat? Was it close? Did they have anything to say of interest (such as “Boy, were we ever stupid to run a race by yoking ourselves to the worst teams! Remember, don’t race like my brother! And don’t race like my brother!”)

Both **Hentor the Barbarian** , and **Barbarian** missed some of the show.

To **Hentor** , it wasn’t even close. The Cho Brothers, in classic Cho Brother fashion, drove down a blocked off street and were delayed by the cops for what appeared to be a pretty long time. It was dark by the time they finally made it to the Amazing Bathmat.

> Don’t get me wrong: the Six-Pack alliance is one of the worst strategic moves in the history of _ever_.

My feelings on the Six-Pack rest entirely on what was actually going on inside the heads of the Cho brothers as they participated in it. Kentucky and Bama were grist for the mill going in so whether they allied at the back of the pack or not was really of no consequence. The Chos were definitely the key players in that alliance.

If they joined the alliance with the goal of keeping weaker teams in longer at the expense of stronger teams, then it was a few steps shy of genius. It might have made it all the way to genius if it hadn’t been for the fact that it, you know, didn’t really work. But as was bandied about _ad nauseum_ when they bluffed the BQs off the FF so Dave and Mary could take it and stay in, keeping a team as weak as Dave and Mary in at the expense of a much stronger team like Asshat and Sarah is only likely to help you in the short term and possibly the long term.

If they entered the alliance because of their deep abiding love for Dave and Mary and Lyn and Karlyn then they’re quite possibly the worst racers ever.

Either way, if they’d have broken away from the alliance two or even one leg earlier they’d likely still be in, so for that if nothing else they’re kinda dumbasses.

> [@rockle](#):
>
> And, you know, you don’t _really_ need to be particularly smart to win this race (see: Chris & Alex),

Yeah, you just have to banging one half of the second place team so she throws it to you (I keed, I keed).

Mmmm…recovering junkie fondue…

I kinda went back and forth on the Models for the first part of the Race. They went on a few too many times about how their addiction gave them such keen insight into the blah blah blah for my taste and they made some dumb mistakes (mostly with navigation), but over the past few episodes they’ve kinda grown on me. I’ve started finding them kinda hot which I freely admit is part of it, but over the last few episodes they’ve been developing that sort of mini-plot of how the one doesn’t want to let the other down and how the one is getting frustrated because he doesn’t feel he’s holding his own for the team, and it would be very heart-rending indeed if only I could ever learn to tell the two of them apart.

Plus they’re either the gayest straight boys or the straightest gay boys that’ve ever been on the race and while I kid about the HoYay! moments they clearly have a deep affection for each other (whether it’s actually sexual or not, and it doesn’t really matter) that none of the other straight boy teams have shown and I find it all rather sweet.

>
> Did they have anything to say of interest (such as “Boy, were we ever stupid to run a race by yoking ourselves to the worst teams! Remember, don’t race like my brother! And don’t race like my brother!”)

No, actually, they went on about how proud of themselves they were and how they “raced the way [they] were raised,” which led to my immediate exclamation of “you were raised to be losers?”

Yeah, I was kind of annoyed with the Cho brothers in their departure speech. There’s a pretty big patch of what appears to me to be moral and ethical race behavior between actively being evil to other teams, and trying to help other teams to the point that you handicap yourselves. And while I respect the Cho brothers’ more for being true to themselves than I would if they’d fussed about how they would have won if they hadn’t helped the Bama moms or something, they were a little too smug about what good people they are for my taste.

I didn’t get to see their speech, but if I get the gist of it, I think I’d hate to play board games with these guys. I get the sense that they’d keep trying to give me Boardwalk and Park Place, or an extra die to roll in Risk, or automatic respawning of my queen in chess, or… well you get the idea. I mean, at some level, competition is part of what makes games fun.
