I’m shocked no one’s mentioned the great line from Jet, about leaving the subcontinent: “We’re tired of playing Cowboys and Indians.”

That Detour was practically made to eliminate the Goths. Kent would of course have trouble with a carrying task, as he’s weak as a kitten. And neither one of them look like they’d be able to eat that meal if you gave them all day. So, whining and bitching aside, I guess one has to give them props for getting through it. Still, their inherent weaknesses compared to the other teams, along with a serious case of race fatigue, means they’ll be gone soon.

Too bad. I picked the Goths to root for before the race started, just so that I would be the only one not in the Cowboy’s corner. I had no idea their personalities would make them so difficult to like at this point in the race.

If they get into the Final 3, it’ll be because of Vyx. She’s really their driving force. Without her, Kent would have been steamrolled early on.

Heh, the look on his face when she said “We finished well today. Maybe we should argue more?”. I thought he was going to start crying right there.

His nose, when combined with his personality, just begs for a good solid punch. I figured at some point that he would just faint on the couch that he was occasionally carrying.

I also got a chuckle out of Vyxxen describing them as the last romantic couple left on the race. Come on! You’re not still fooling anyone.

In my book, it’s pretty much never okay to pee on a building, let alone one of national significance. It really wouldn’t have taken that long to find a designated spot for that inside the building.

There have been boring tasks before - like “stack this wood” but few have been as boring and uneventful as the chimney sweeping task. About the only remotely interesting element at all was hearing some of the racers mention how heavy the thing was.

Another way to spin it: they’re completely kicking butt on the tasks & challenges. If they had caught the right flights the last 2 weeks, they’d be \*miles \*ahead of everybody else.

Watching Kent pout and whine and cry while trying to carry that couch, I had an awful flashback to season 3. Long time _Race_ watchers will recall Flo, who pouted and whined and cried her way all the way to a million dollars. I really hope it doesn’t come to that with Kent and Vyxxxen.

I would bet that the VO on the promo was the temp track recorded by the producer or editor. The promos are likely delivered during the week before the episode airs, long after the shooting has finished. If it were a matter of Phil being unavailable, they would have used another professional announce. The VO is also a little difficult to hear because, being a temp track, it wasn’t mixed to cut through the music and effects.

It’s remarkable that it wasn’t caught, maybe because the promo was finished late. Possibly so late that Phil was suddenly unavailable and there wasn’t enough time to book a replacement before air. But it seems more likely that several people screwed up along the way.

Good for Zev and Justin!

I liked Jet saying “Maybe it would be easier if I just laid on the couch and told Cord about my feelings while he pushed.” Cord says “I don’t care that much about his feelings”. And Cord pulling out his leather work gloves to do the chimney sweep chore. The airline thing was a gamble, and I’m glad it didn’t kill them, it so easily could have.

I was hoping while they were in Vienna they’d go to the Spanish Riding School. I bet Jet and Cord could muck stalls faster than _anyone_!

Kynt needs to melt into a puddle of his own ineptitude. I’m really glad we didn’t have to listen to Luke whine, too. I hope Gary and Mallory manage to pull it out over them.

I didn’t get that the Globetrotter urinated against the library at all. I thought he ducked into the building to use the restroom.

On the food challenge, was it in the rules that they had to use silverware? Or that they each had to eat a weinerschnitzel and piece of cake?

I’d have been tearing into it with my hadns. I also would have given Mallory both slices of cake to eat in 12 minutes while I tried to slam quickly through two weinerschnitzels with my bare hands tearing at it. Might even have gone all Kobayashi and been dipping in my water. Then I might have thrown up since I haven’t eaten pork (or beef, if they used veal) since 1992.

Umm, wasn’t it just a week or two ago that everyone was giving a team crap for trying to gain 20 minutes by taking a connecting flight? The general wisdom seems flipped this time. What’s different?

> Umm, wasn’t it just a week or two ago that everyone was giving a team crap for trying to gain 20 minutes by taking a connecting flight? The general wisdom seems flipped this time. What’s different?

Actually, it’s the same wisdom. Going off on your own to gain a possible advantage is usually a bad idea. It was a particularly bad idea this time because A) They were both connecting flights. It’s just that the 5:35 flight had two connections and B) The Cowboy’s flight was scheduled to get in 30 minutes later. So if everything went right, they would be 30 minutes behind. The only way they would have an advantage is if the faster flight was delayed and theirs wasn’t.

I mean, it might have been a good idea for a spectacularly slow team who already had a speed bump or something and would lose otherwise. But the Cowboys are probably the fastest team, challenge wise. They get in at the same time as everyone else, and they probably could’ve come in first.

If I am ever in Stuttgart it wouldn’t be the gutter I would pee in but rather find a ccertain car factory to pee on 😃
