> It seems that Bob and Joyce were really begging to allow them to buy Economy Class tickets (exchange their First Class and pay economy class fare) and upgrade someone to First Class without anyone paying for those First Class seats…

That reminds me…didja notice that on one of the flights – probably one of the intra-Europe connections – all the teams looked like they’d been “bumped up” to First Class? Those were some VERY comfy seats they were sitting in, and only two wide!

As for the alcohol thing, there would be other reasons than religion to not choose the alcohol detour. We all know that alcohol dulls your perceptions, and while a single shot of vodka probably won’t hurt you, these teams are coming off two days of non-stop travel and very little sleep, which would make the alcohol go right to their brain faster than under normal conditions. Plus, there’s the likelihood of dropping the shot glass and having to drink multiple shots to pass the test (which I’m very surprised didn’t happen!)

That said, I probably would have _purposely_ dropped the glass several times, for the sake of getting myself really toasted. (Hey, it’s TV, it’s entertaining right?) And then eat a kilo of caviar on top of that. Buuurrrrrrrpp! ;j

> But since I clearly missed something, what lie(s) did he and Nicole tell another team?

After the stuck-in-the-mud incident, at the airport they told Charla and Mirna that they waited for them. Plus that wonderful shot of Nicky telling Mirna that the Moms were not buying them tickets, followed by one of them moms turning around and telling them what tickets they bought for 'em.

Not that I have a problem with lying to Mirna as much as humanly possible. But I’m not trying to set myself up as a Christian poster boy.

The thing is though, we don’t know that they didn’t wait for them. They turned, and then the next we saw was them at the airport. There’s a pretty vast gap of footage there. Being the trailing car they didn’t have a whole lot of options for their actions, especially considering the whole racing aspect of the show.

And at this point, I really think lying to and irritating Mirna should be some sort of pre-requisite to winning God’s favor.

Here’s how I remember it.

C&M go straight at Mirna’s direction.

B&N come to the same intersection. Brandon says take a left. Nicky says that C&M went straight. Brendon says that C&M went the wrong way. Car is not stopped.

C&M notice that B&N are no longer behind them. Mirna descides they are evil backstabbers, just like all the other criminal dirtbags in the race (OK, I’m embelishing here).

Cut back to B&N in a still moving car. Brandon says they can’t afford to slow down for C&M because they have other teams on their tail. They may have slowed down a little, but even that’s giving them the benefit of the doubt.

Believe me, when I start my own religion, this will be right in the rule book. And as soon as Brandon and Nicky convert to Trionism, everything will be fine.
