Has the time change weirded us all out so much that nobody is watching any more? Or are we all watching “American Idol”? What’s going on? Where is everyone? I’m staying up … I hope I’m not alone. Yeah, the time change is absolutely killing me. Plus I have to leave extra-special early in the morning to go to a conference tomorrow, so I will be most unhappy. AND, If the reduced sleep wasn’t bad enough, my husband and I always have a snack while watching our favorite trash TV…and now I either have to wait until 10pm to have my snack, or else I have to watch **TAR** snackless. Don’t mess with my sleep or my snacks, people! ---

If ever there was a team on the Race that needed to have the Wrath of God invoked upon them, it is Eric & Jeremy. _Jumping Jesus on a pogo stick._ They somehow manage to be offensive in every single way. ---

So I get the impression that Eric and Jeremy like girls. Does anyone else get that impression? I realize that they’re being extremely subtle in their expression of their enjoyment of girls, but their enjoyment of girls is somehow managing to get through. ---

Phil “O Rly?” face = win. Are Eric and Jeremy hiding something? Girls are awesome, but most straight guys can talk about something else for five minutes. Eh, maybe its’ just crappy editing. Hee. Eric & Jeremy - Seriously overcompensating for something… Team Nerd - Too adorable! The Mr. Wizard quip made me laugh out loud. Double D’s - Good fear-facing! That’s what we like to see on this Race (when we’re not seeing complete Killer Fatigue Breakdown, that is)! Team Haight-Ashbury - the schtick is still endearing. Let’s hope it doesn’t become tiresome before India. Team “Black People” - kind of non-entities this week, though Yolanda showed some potential for “MY GOD WE’RE NOT IN FIRST MOVE YOUR ASS!” demon-possession. MoJo - speaking of demon possession… “GET IN THE CAR!!!” I half expected some crucifixional masturbation after that. Team Oldsters - Again, a squeak-under-the-bar finish. Really soon now you’re going to run out of people slower, stupider, or less efficient than you and face Philimination. Team Rory-Gilmore - pretty much non-entities this week as well Glamazons - Goodbye, good luck, don’t let the door catch on your Bedazzler on the way out…the enchantment was gone this week. I found I was ready for them to go by the first clue. ---

Ok, about the oldsters? It hilarious to me how every season we have a team that’s older/slower/weaker than the other teams, so they proclaim the mental game will be their forte. Then they proceed to make mistake after mistake. 😃 Last week they wandered by the clue box a good four or five times before finally finding it. They chose the motorcycle task and stuck with it for quite a while after it was clear they didn’t know what the heck they were doing. I don’t think that was all, but I can’t remember what else happened last week. This week they send grandma up the first fire escape where four other teams are making their way up. Did she expect to pass 'em up? I think only one team went up the third route. Then they inexplicably take the physically demanding task at the detour (which actually may have been OK; it wasn’t clear how long that took them). Their time is limited. Word to the frat boys overcompensating. They need to shut up already, or at least learn the first rule of reality show editing, say something once every 8 days in real life, and watch it get edited to once every 8 seconds on the show. I’m so glad Team Karen Hughes is gone. They bugged, and not in a good way. The only ouster I’m looking forward to more is Scott “Lake” Peterson and Michelle. ---

It was a strange episode, wasn’t it? Too much climbing. Not much of anything else. How long is it going to take for Team Frankenberry to pick the right Detour? God! They’re dense! (Too bad about their dead battery. Does anyone else see symbolism here?) Maybe I’m just spoiled by last week’s very tense double episode, but this one left me rather bored. It was 9:28pm on my cable box clock when Team BJ & the Bear got their “Drive to the Pitstop” clue. That just doesn’t happen without a Fast Forward, folks. (And we midwest TAR fans don’t care about the show moving to 9pm. It’s the shank of the evening for us! And we get to watch HOUSE without taping it.) ---

They had just come off a terrible Road Block choice involving assembling something mechanical and they were presented with what appeared to be a mechanical task they knew nothing about. Rather than taking a chance on blowing another mechanical task and having to switch, they went with the task which was more physically demanding but that, if they fucked up Press It, they’d end up doing anyway. ---

I thought the exact same thing. It felt like a whole section was missing, but then thinking back they had done both tasks. Weird. What was up with the stair climbing roadblock? Why did 4(?) people rush up the first one and only the hippy guy on #3? Was there a rule that they had to fill up the spots on each one before moving along? Why wouldn’t the third person on stair #1 run over and be the first person up stair #2? Again, weird. I felt bad for the old couple falling behind because of the car battery. I guess it’s just one of those things that happens on the race, but it still sucks and I’m glad they weren’t eliminated because of it, although I don’t see them lasting much more anyway. I’m just glad the loud sisters are gone. I don’t think I could have put up with another minute of all the **yelling!** ---

I’m rooting for Wanda and Desiree (Team Salsa). They didn’t get much air time this time around, but ran a steady race and didn’t really have any major breakdowns. Not as high up in the standings as last week, but slow and steady. Say what you will about Lake, he can perform tasks – the climbing and bike building he just snapped to and got on it. Kinda scary, really. Frat boys need to tone down the “we like girls, we want to get laid on this trip” stuff. Annoying. Did I hear Team Hippie say when Phil told them they were going to Tahiti “Tits for Two”? Or is my hearing totally shot? Team Codgers aren’t long for the Race. Too much bumbling and not picking appropriate tasks. I KNEW the Frosties were in trouble when the one kept whining about the car. And the crying. Spare us and go home already!
