I ended up having a text argument with BF about what task of the detour we would do. At least until I reminded him, we live in Canada and with this winter we should know how heavy snow is. Plus those shovels were no bigger than my car shovel (and I’ve shoveled out my spot with it when it was a foot deep with heavy wet snow, so I know how much of a pain that size of shovel is) AND I reminded him that if you misread/misheard the beeps you could be a foot off and not realize it and be digging forever. He conceded the point to me. 😛 I’d be whining during that too though. Bad enough to do it in a light drifting snowstorm, worse to do it in those winds on top of a freaking GLACIER. I’d be a little freaked about the crevasse though, been to the Columbia Icefield and they are serious when warning about the crevasses and not to climb on the glacier… Still not sure who took Vixsyn’s mould, not hard to do but can be finicky. ---

Couple of things I was really unimpressed by the GlobeTrotter’s tantrum. It was poor sportsmanship, it was whiny as hell and he WAS being a bully (he’s what–3 times Kynt’s size?) That said… 1. Everyone gets killer fatigue and that was out of character for him, so I’ll give him a pass. (I give every racer one “Killer fatigue meltdown” pass. 2. Kint’s behavior was far, far, FAR worse. The “make faces behind his back” thing was so far over the top that I wanted Big Easy to kick Kyntz’s delicately made-up ass. I’m getting a little sick of Zev myself. This is the second or third time he’s just kind of given up and let his partner do the work. I understand he has a mental illness…I don’t care. If he’s on the race I’m gonna judge him by the same standards as anyone else. And he’s not stacking up well. I’m rooting for the following outcome: 1. Gary/Mallory for the win 2. The Sisters for 2nd I don’t care between Zev/Justin or Globetrotters for 3d. ---

Ok–from another board, the concensus seems to be that either Jenn took FT’s mold OR FT just screwed up and didn’t do the base. It couldn’t have been Vyxxn no matter what: they spent time establishing that while everyone else was swapping out their molds, Vyxxin didn’t–she did a bunch of extra work on hers and then put it on the bottom of the freezer. Then FT went over, had a tantrum and accused her…even though she was working on the other half of the mold. If she’d taken his, she would have been doing another front half of the mold, not a back half (or whatever). Since she didn’t end up with two back sides, she didn’t take the wrong one. ---

Only a couple of episodes ago, and the cowboys I kept forgetting that Jet was the one with the black hat even though I’d remind myself every episode. ---

The confusion with gnome-gate I think refers to the difference between the front and back of the mold and the top and bottom parts. The way I read it, they were all doing parts of the mold and putting it in the freezer to cool then taking it out and painting the other colors. Flight time had painted both his face and the pants (bottom) of the front. When he went to the freezer, he took out the one that already had the pants done, which was Vyxsyn’s. We already established that Vyxsyn was essentially painting the whole thing before putting either part in the freezer so the one on the bottom shelf that was essentially done was hers. That means that eith Jen or Mallory only painted the top half of their gnome but took out one with the bottom half done already and left flight time to redo the bottom half. While the Globetrotters finished first anyway even with redoing the pants, it means that one of these teams got an unfair advantage and might have finished behind the “Goths”. It’s a shame because I like those two teams and I don’t like to see anybody cheat. I’m surprised the camerapeople weren’t watching more closely. ---
