Back in 2012, I started [this thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=666574) about some of the amazing things we’ve tracked down here at SDMB. There’s been a bunch since then, so I thought it would be fun to go at it again. I was reminded of it when I saw this: **tallcoldone** just tracked down a 4th grade text book for **Arkcon** in this [thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=18102979). So - what else have we found in the past few years? ---

I wouldn’t call it an \*amazing \*find, since it was just some intermediate-level Google-fu, but the first thing that came to mind was my tracking down the story behind [this .GIF](http://imgur.com/oKGq76i) (which is itself sort of amazing) inquired about in [this GQ thread](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=739279). ---

[This stupid Ewok made-for-TV movie](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=702182) that I had last seen when I was 6 (now 30+ years ago). The weird part is that I remembered the details almost perfectly. And that at least three Dopers knew the answer. ---

> [@Omar\_Little](#): > > The mystery guy on the Tonight Show from the early 70’s. I was thinking about that [one](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=722215) too, when I started this version of the thread. That was some solid research. ---
