It’s after 8:00 pm. Now what? It’s never happened before. Will they bring it tomorrow? Tomorrow is a Holiday. Or Tuesday? Yeah, I know. Call them and ask. I’ll do that if no one knows what the protocol is. ---

I was not aware that USPS delivered on Sundays. It certainly doesn’t in my area. ---

Just about every time I’ve had Amazon Prime shipping via UPS to my workplace, they’ve failed to deliver on time. I finally had them manage to do it on time when I ordered something while away on vacation; fortunately I have coworkers who accepted the package and stuck it in my desk. (I’d ordered it then with the assumption it’d arrive after I returned to work.) ---

I checked the delivery status and it says they made a “delivery attempt” at 7:10 pm, which is a complete lie. My desk is 5 feet from my front door and there were (and are) multiple dogs asleep on the couch. Not a one of them blinked. No one knocked or rang the bell. They are full of shit. I had the front curtains open and no one stopped in front of the building either. Liars. ---

It wont’ get your package there any sooner but it definitely won’t hurt to complain to Amazon, even though they’re not the company doing the actual delivering. Start with them. ---

The same thing happened quite often to me in the past, with about 1/3 of deliveries either arriving several days late or not at all. The problem turned out that Amazon was using a terrible private delivery company for the final leg of the packages’ trips. There was no way to select or even blacklist specific carriers, so I wound up having to get a refund on my Prime membership. Amazon was always happy to send out another copy of the purchase, but I didn’t want to wait a total of a week for an ostensibly two-day shipment, nor did I want to deal with the hassle of returning a late package if it eventually arrived. ---

USPS screwed up one of my Amazon deliveries this week. Here’s the tracking history: August 26, 2014, 6:49 am, Breinigsville PA US Package has left seller facility and is in transit to carrier August 26, 2014, 4:31 pm, Horsham PA US Package received by carrier August 26, 2014, 9:06 pm, Horsham PA US Package has left the carrier facility August 27, 2014, 3:21 pm, Buffalo NY US Package arrived at a carrier facility August 28, 2014, 3:09 am, Buffalo NY US Package has left the carrier facility August 28, 2014, 5:51 am, Henrietta NY US Package arrived at a carrier facility August 28, 2014, 1:54 pm, Henrietta NY US Package has been transferred to the USPS and will be delivered by your local postal office August 29, 2014, 6:10 pm, Henrietta NY US Package arrived at a carrier facility August 29, 2014, 7:04 pm, Henrietta NY US Package has left the carrier facility August 29, 2014, 10:35 pm, E. Syracuse NY US Package arrived at a carrier facility August 30, 2014, 2:38 am, E. Syracuse NY US Package has left the carrier facility August 30, 2014, 5:02 am, Henrietta NY US Package arrived at a carrier facility If you know the geography of western NY and are aware I live in the Rochester area, you’re going to spot something inexplicable in this history. If not, let me explain that everything was going well up to August 29. My package had arrived at Henrietta and been transferred to the post office for local delivery. And then for no apparent reason it was sent to off to East Syracuse. This makes no sense. My best guess is it got put on a truck by accident. As you can see, it was sent back to Henrietta and barring any further screw-ups, I’ll receive it Tuesday. But I should have received it Friday and it’s annoying this happened right before a holiday weekend. ---

I had the exact same problem last Christmas. On the day that they claimed they attempted to deliver the package, I was home all day because it was absolutely pouring rain and I didn’t want to go out. The tracking then said that they had left a notice of attempted delivery, which they did not. That was a Friday. They then said that they had attempted to re-deliver on the next day, a Saturday. If they had left a notice of delivery, they wouldn’t have tried to re-deliver, they would have given me a chance to pick it up at their facility, or for me to contact them for an attempted re-delivery. At any rate, the item never came, and finally, two weeks before Christmas, I called and canceled the order and had them send me my money back. Apparently lying about deliveries is a common thing.
