Amazon Prime is going to start charging for streaming

So few things I want to watch are available “free” with Prime I don’t intend to give them any more money on a regular basis.

True. There are a few things I like to watch on the platform, but I can put up with ads when I do.

I can get a 512GB Thumb drive for $30. Easily hold at least 60 to 70 movies. Most of my 720p movies (PC and phone) are under 6GB storage.

I think my purchased Prime movies can be downloaded? Put them on the thumb drive too. Not sure if they’d play.

If you can get them to play properly via thumb drive, you might consider a Network Attached Storage (NAS) drive. It would be a slightly more geeky approach, but it would have greater capacity.

Got the formal notification today. We’re still planning to drop the whole service,even though our free shipping is at $35.

We did cancel, but after a week they sent a reminder of something I didn’t actually know, which is that you get a free year of GrubHub+ with Prime. We use the Doordash Dash Pass at $9.99/month, and after comparing the two services, we thought what the heck, cancelled Doordash, and re-upped with Prime.
So, there ya go, we’re already back. For now.
