Amazon Prime Shipping Methods

Mine almost always come UPS unless it’s extremely small. Keep in mind that Amazon contracts out other people - it’s not always coming form the AZ warehouse iirc - so they aren’t always in control of shipping methods.

Also, I would like to point out that while it all sounds like a great deal, it is an even better deal if you have a .edu email address (or at least was, so check into it) - one year free and then half price from then on.

Mine often come via Lasership, a new sketchy service Amazon has been using that I hate. They show up at random hours in a beat-up Honda Civic and if I’m not home they just dump the package in the hallway outside my door. My building manager does accept packages for us, but apparently they don’t care about that. Fortunately, none of my neighbors are thieves. I actually kind of prefer this to being home when they show up because some of their drivers are sketchy-looking enough that I’m not thrilled opening the door for them.

The rest of the time the stuff comes UPS. It’s come via USPS maybe a couple of times, and I can’t recall ever getting anything through FedEx.

Lasership does sound pretty sketchy from what I’ve heard. I actually did get an Amazon package from them once; found it in the lobby on top of the mailboxes, which are inside a locked door, which means Lasership just left it inside the front door but outside the (locked) inner door of the building and one of my neighbors was kind enough to bring it in and put it there. Also lucky my neighbors weren’t thieves that day.

As for Prime, what I’ll probably do is take a chance the next time I’m ordering something and gamble on the 30 day trial just to experiment. Or maybe just wait for the 7-Eleven or Rite-Aid options (I have one of each within easy walking distance).

That has been my experience more or less. I have been a Prime member for 4 years now. Totally worth it.
