Amelie

In reading that, I thought…oh yeah…it wasn’t in English.

Loved, loved that movie. As a last stop at the local library I checked it out…very charming movie. I really want to talk about the story itself but don’t want to give anything away. Makes me want to see it again.

Great Film. I found it amusing that in our Video Shop, there was a big sticker on the box that said “Warning: This film is Subtitled”.

I’m not an overly emotional or sappy guy, but I have to say that the last five minutes or so of that film is quite possibly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It almost gives me goosebumps to remember it.

I had a really hard time watching the movie because of the subtitles.

I am a very visual person. The photography in Amelie was very interesting. And I was stuck with the options of reading the subtitles and missing the photography or watching the photography and not knowing what everyone was saying.

My sister looks exactly like Amelie…
Ok that had nothing to do with the OP… sorry!
And I have not seen this movie yet, and yes I am very ashamed… I should rent it this week end…
You guys make me want to watch it.

My sister acts a lot like Amelie. It only makes me love the movie that much more.

I loved this film, it’s one of the few I have on DVD.

Amelie was actually the first (and so far, only) foreign language film I’ve ever seen. It really was fantastic. The only problem was not being able to look away from the screen for half a second for fear of missing some text.

Best movie I ever read.

I’m with Exapno on this one…I won’t go into detail, because when I held forth in my LJ about all the reasons it annoyed me, my friends wanted to flay me alive. Everyone goes on about how charming she is, and needless to say, I was decidedly not charmed. There are a few too many rabid Amelie fans in there to get into a big discussion about it, so it will have to suffice that I found her to be extremely annoying and in need of a good shake.

I must admit that, though I did like the movie overall, I was also somewhat annoyed by Amelie as well, like some of the posters. What I didn’t like was the rather petty acts of revenge, and the long out-drawn end. With the first I had hoped she’d be above that, with the second I got the urge to kick her and get her on the right track. But as I said, I did like it overall. And I can understand that most people just think it a perfect film.

Damn… wanna introduce me?

I will have to buy this movie at some point, I loved it.

Just don’t tell the guys down at the pub…'kay?

Every time I watch it, it makes me want to go to Paris. After the first viewing it’s easier to concentrate on the scenery.

You might be able to find a used copy of Amelie at your video store. Hollywood Video has just started selling their extra copies–3 for the price of two. Came out to about seven bucks, in my case.

One question; was the artist neighbor supposed to remind us of Van Gogh, with his furry, ear flap hat? Hmmmm…

How many people in Paris are having orgasms right this second?

Quinze!

I second that motion. Audrey Tautou is a major cutie.
