I liked Phil better on this song before he got to the bridge, but I have to say, this was a good choice for him. I’m not as impressed with Melinda as I usually am, but she’s still quite good. Not crazy about the outfit _at all_, tough. She looks like she’s wearing one of my grandmother’s ancient housedresses. (I know that Lilly Pulitzer is “in” again, but I don’t give a crap.) Big ups for being able to not only _pull off_ the blue eyeshadow, but to actually look _good_ in it. And her teeth are so very, _very_ white. You know, I _just now_ realized that “American” is spelled incorrectly in this thread’s title. ---

The giggles have worn off and now I’m bored. I expected more from both Melinda and Lakisha. With one notable exception, they all seem lackluster today. Maybe they all went out last night and are hung over. ---

_Gaaaaah_ … you know, I love The Cure (duh), and I think that in its way, this song is actually quite depressing (if not still very pretty, and one of the songs I put on the very first mixed-tape I made for my husband, back when we was still my boyfriend), and when it’s slowed down like this, I feel suicidal. Thanks a lot, Blake! And “Blake” didn’t do anything with this song that “311” didn’t already do. Where’s all the indignation? People got pissed when Chris did Līve’s version of “Walk the Line.” Who’s going to get mad about Blake “taking credit” for something he didn’t come up with on his own? Yeah, I don’t think I care either. Not liking this song on Jordin, but she’s not doing a bad job. _Hate_ the outfit, though. HATE! She looks like she got all her clothes off the clearance rack (which I do, but tens of millions of people don’t watch _me_ on TV each week). They don’t do _anything_ for her. ---

All in all it was a miserable night… Lakisha- Forgettable, boring drivel.Should be bottom three. Chris S.- Silly. He has no stage presence,even less than Melinda.He tries way to hard. Gina- Made up for last week,very good. Sanjaya- WTF with the hair? Lousy job,I think he is gonna go home. Haley- Nice job! Phil- Liked it,still might be in the bottom three though. Melinda- Stale as usual.One trick pony.Needs voted off. Blake-Dull Dull Dull Jordin- Yawn Chris R- Wasn’t bad,but probably not good enough. Based on tonight Haley and Gina are in the finals. Lakisha,Sanjaya and Chris R bottom three. ---
