God I thought I was the only one. Everytime I hear any of their songs it is worse than being kicked in the balls. Everyone is always like “I like that song” it makes me think that everything is some kind of pod person hypnotized by some sort sonic evil, and that I’m the only one in the world that gets how truly evil they are. Only thing worse is those assholes who sang 2525 and air supply. Who let them call themselves “america” it makes me want to change the name of our country to south canada or north mexico, anything to rid us of the stench. ---

Just FYI, America’s success is probably largely due to the fact that their producer was none other than Sir George Martin (well, I don’t think he was a knight at the time, but you get it). ---

My roommate just came out of his room to ask what the hell is so funny out here. 🙂 I’m dyin, I tell ya:) To me, there isn’t anything inherently evil about America. The songs are obviously catchy. But like all catchy things that have been around for 30 or so years, they get rather old after a while. Funny that the Beatles never really have. IMHO, of course. And now the fucking song is in my head and will be for a good portion of the evening. Shit. “Ear worm” indeed. Great band name though! ---

At least **imthjckaz** saved me from the trauma of having Horse with No Name running through my head until the wee hours of the morning by posting lyrics from Sister Golden Hair. I’ve always adored that song, maybe it’s the “Well I tried to make it Sunday, but I got so damn depressed that I set my sights on Monday and I got myself undressed” opening, but having been (and occasionally still being) one of those now oh-so-trendy creative borderline bipolar types I’ve identified with the song since I was little kid. Besides, it reminds me of a girl I used to want to get to know a lot better. ---
