# American Airlines, you really, truly suck!

If this had happened to me, I might be pissed enough to put it in the pit, but since it’s a coworker, MPSIMS will do.
She was planning a 2 week vacation at the end of the month with one week in Japan followed by one week in Taiwan. The plan was USA-\>Japan on American Airlines, then Japan-\>Taiwan on United.
For obvious reasons, travel to Japan is inadvisable at this time. United was very understanding and waived all late cancellation fees and gave a full refund. American, on the other hand… no refund. Best, hell only, offer was a credit towards future travel.

According to their[posted policy](http://www.aa.com/i18n/agency/Travel_Notice/japan_earthquake1.jsp)they are offering refunds for tickets purchased prior to March 14 for the dates of March 11 to April 10.
