Because, as a rule, if a show has an animated character that sounds like Paul Lynde, and he’s not voiced by Paul Lynde, it’s a strong suggestion by the creators that the character is gay, Paul Lynde being known for a rather flamboyant gayness.

Isn’t Paul Lynde also know for being slightly dead?

Check to see if in a future episode he makes comments about how uncomfortable his autopsy was.
