Our resident American Idol thread starter is no more so I guess I’ll get the ball rolling. When last we left the AI thread: A shipment of bloat reducer was on it’s way to Simon. One set of twins was on their way to the slammer. A guy dressed like a girl was mad because people were confused about his gender. Young Zack was a hottie. A young girl got too much tan in a bottle from her mom. Can’t wait to see what this week brings. ---

The preview for tonight showed promise. I especially liked the girl who sang the Dixie Chicks song. Let’s hope the judges are nice to her. I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m ready to see some real talent this week. I really liked Zachary (the one you could tell was a boy), but other than that there were few standouts. We have another two-hour show tonight. My husband is going to be so miserable. ---

I liked Zachary, too, but he insisted on bringing gender confusion to the table when the judges _specifically_ didn’t go there and spoke _only_ about his singing. Way to grow a big chip on your shoulder there, kid. And if he wants to be treated like a boy? Fine, but don’t get upset when you dress like a girl and people are a bit confused about the message you’re sending. As for Simon being nice to someone singing country? That I have to see to believe. As I recall, even Carrie didn’t sing an obviously country song for her audition last year. Two more hours to fill, eh? Hopefully we’ll see another beautiful compilation like last week’s _Lady Marmalade_ one. That was my favorite part of both shows, I think! ---

Oops, wrong Zachary. Too many Zacharys. I really need to start cutting back on my reality shows. By the time TAR, Apprentice, and Survivor start up, it feels like I’ll be booked practically every night of the week. ---

The only commercial I’ve seen shows Simon looking very happy about something. I’m ready to see some talent too. I’m not very excited about anyone we’ve seen yet. ---

[/QUOTE] Well, this girl singing country was black, so maybe she’ll fool him? She didn’t sound country at all, she just had a really nice voice. Yeah, these two-hour shows get a little long for me. The first 15 minutes will be nothing but Ryan giving a recap of the last two shows, and a preview of what’s to come, the best and worst of which the’ll show 4-5 times throughout the show. I’m so on to American Idol. Too bad I can’t stop watching. ---

It started out innocently enough, with _Survivor_ and _The Amazing Race_, and I told myself I could quit any time. I don’t need to watch _Temptation Island_, I said, but I want to. It’s just a phase, an experiment, but it’s nothing serious. Long story short, but I realized last night when I was watching _Skating with Celebrities_ that I have a problem, and _American Idol_ is one of my drugs of choice … _and I don’t want to get better._ So, needless to say … I am so looking forward to tonight! I bought my husband some Yeungling and some Twinkies and I’m sending him up to his Cave as soon as I can. ---

Yes, in the name of togetherness, I’m enticing him away from his hockey games and _Law & Order_ reruns and teaching him what judges of bad singing and ballroom dancing are looking for. Yes, I’ve even got him watching not one but _two_ versions of swapping wives! I’m coming for my children next! Bwhahaha! ---

I’m not an addict (not in denial either 😉 ) but I did find myself watching The Bachelor last night and seeing the trainwreck that was that orange peel poetess. ---

He struck me as more of a transgendered lad than a homosexual. But I suppose the fight for acceptance is the same. I thought he was sweet, and felt bad for him. Plus I felt bad that the gap between “us and them” was widened, if only in young Zachary’s mind. I hope he’d get through just so I could see more of him. I found him intriguing. ---

So how long is Fox going to be preempting House for American Idol? Or did they move it to another night? (Poor Bones got shuffled off to Wednesday night which has to be the kiss of death, given that it’s up against Lost and a few other shows (e.g. Mythbusters). ---
