Yeah, I think Chris Sligh is going to be my favorite.

Ok, it’s way to early to get an accurate read, but my early favorites are Gina Glocksen and Chris Sligh.

I _want_ to join in on the Antonella hate, but I just can’t. I was born and raised minutes from her, so I’m going to have to give a _little_ bit of love to the hometown girl. Even though her friend was a Kunt with a capital K.

Also, the girl that rode the elevator with Antonella had ten times more vocal talent than half of the chumps they let through. She was straight-up robbed, and I hope she tries again next year.

Sundance’s audition _did_ kick ass, but damn is he coasting. If he doesn’t knock one out the box next week, he way well be one-and-done.

However, I was very happy that the guy who was on the elevator with Sundance got the boot. While his vocals were ok, I thought he was just the type of smarmy, egotistical fuckhead that I don’t need to see every week. Buh bye, douchebag…

Lesie Hunt’s face just creeps me the fuck out.

Paul Kim, I care not about your feet or underwear. I care about your singing. And it ain’t all that good.

Melinda Doolittle and Brandon Rogers are both pretty damn good.

Sanjaya Malakar and Blake Lewis aren’t.

Everyone else has some face-time to make up, because I don’t remember anything specific about them.

Here’s Tami’s website if you want to hear her sing.

Holy smokes was that some awful crap. I couldn’t get to the end of a single song I sampled; “Back Home” being the worst. Nails on a chalkboard bad. If she was as whiny in Hollywood as she is on “Frozen in Time,” there’s no doubt why she was cut. And I think she only knows 3 chords on her guitar, which sounds exactly the same on every song. Not that guitar-playing has anything to do with being the American Idol – it’s just another reason I couldn’t get through listening to any of her boring, terrible music.

Thanks for the link; now I don’t feel as bad about her being cut.

Yeah, I foolishly tried that one and it’s really awful. The couple of others I tried just made me shrug.
So I did what I decided to try and skipped the auditions until Hollywood. It made everything a much better experience.

My only question: At some point during the auditions (my husband watched them but doesn’t remember this) someone sang a really excellent version of “A Change is Gonna Come.” It seems I heard it more than once, but someone male sang it, really rough and bluesy. Does anyone know who that was, and if he made it?

Yes.

I get the impression that Chris Sligh tried out for the show on a dare from his wife, and is simply enjoying the ride as long as it lasts.

I went to VoteForTheWorst to see if they have an early pick.

they have [news](http://www.votefortheworst.com/taxonomy/term/8) that there are numerous nude-and semi-nude pictures of Antonella abroad on the internet.

I suppose not. If she wins, the toilet one could be her album cover!

Poking around, I was reminded that otherwise inexplicably-successful finalist Sundance is the son of Roy “Treat Her Right” Head, who by now has got to have some friends in the industry that backs _“Idol”_.

Why do people get so bent out of shape about that? So he’s Christian; does he have to closet himself? Unless he starts witnessing, either to the audience or to other contestants, I don’t give a rip.

I didn’t see any mention of it on the show or the website. I just think he’s funny and talented. If he turns out to be one of those who constantly goes on about God’s plan for him then I may change my mind. But he doesn’t strike me as “one of those”.

That’s actually my point. The people elsewhere on the net who know of his faith found it out by searching for his blogs. They had to dig for it, and they act as if he’s cramming it down people’s throats. I was surprised to hear it mentioned on SDMB; I was hoping not to have to.

Aw, come on. We all know that Christ’s favorite always wins the Grammy. 😉

Honestly, I don’t care. A lot of people (and previous contestants) are Christians. So what. As long as he doesn’t go all Mandisa on us, we’ll be fine.

What’s wrong with being a Christian and going to church? I bet a majority of AI contestants believe in God and many go to church. Big deal.

It’s when Jesus is your Homeboy that it begins to annoy me. Take a look at Stephanie Edward’s interview to get a little taste of what I mean.

Yes, I believe in previous threads the meaning of “good looking out” was explained. Randy, however, is an ass and doesn’t use it correctly. Just like when he does the “brush the shoulder” thingy.

Good looking out means “thanks for the warning” or “good you spotted it, I didn’t see it” or-- what it sounds like it means.
