I … am shocked that Simon liked this. I thought Lee was off-key several times during that bleh melancholy song. I do like his voice, and he’s cute and “current,” but he was all kinds of flat during that. ---

How would this guy doing Bad Company be “changing it up?” That would be the epitome of staying in the box for this kid. Simon is right this time. He’s the only one that’s sounded like a pro all night. ---

Timeshifted, so I will make one big post until I catch up. Todrick needed to get knocked down a peg for that remix. Can’t believe it didn’t merit an indulgent from Simon. Aaron has no stage presence. He was rocking from side to side like a full-body nervous tic. Voice wasn’t bad. Already getting sick of the stage mom. Also, this kid is a good four inches shorter than Seacrest, which makes him jockey levels of short. Jermaine is too soft, then when he got loud he pulled a Haeley and started screaming at me. Painful, which is sad because he was one of my favorite initial auditions. Tim sounds Canadian. He should not attempt falsetto at all. He sounds decent when he’s not squeaking. I wonder if he had less time to prepare after they had to boot Little Orphan Tranny. Joe “Cannon Fodder” Munoz is up now. He has a very nice tone, but not the best enunciation. He got a tiny bit goaty there at the end, but I think he has the best vocal tone so far. Liked him a lot. Gotta wax those caterpillars on top of his eyes. Tyler is a likeable guy. I think he took ludes before this performance. Eats up the stage even though he seems slower than he should be, and is certainly not the best singer around. Lee DeWyze showed us some belly in his photo shoot. He’s horribly off-key, to the point that the song is unrecognizeable. That was horrible. I’m sad, because I wanted him to be good. How many times did Randy say “kinda” in his critique? Is Simon smoking crack? I totally agree with Kara–that song doesn’t sound like what came out of his mouth, and it’s not because he changed it up. Okay, caught up now. Curious what everyone else has said so far. ---

Okay, John impresses me for picking this classic song. And he has a very good voice. I’m not buying the interpretation 100%, though… kind of shallow for this piece. Did Fantasia sing this song? Someone did this in previous years… ---

Weird song choice by Big Mike. He is also practically fellating the mic. Still one of the better overall performances of the night, and half-decent vocals. ---

Oh, I _really_ like this guy’s voice. His tone, his vibrato, they’re really solid and lovely to listen to. In this song, though, it wasn’t brilliant by any stretch; he sounded a bit weak. I think he could give a real powerhouse performance but that wasn’t it. Seemed pointless to bring out the guitar just to do a little strumming that was lost in the arrangement. ---

I thought Green Mile was basically fine, but it was kind of a lame song choice. He’s got a base level of competence, but I’m not sure if he’s going to find a distinctive voice or style. I think he’ll probably make it to the Final 12, and will most likely hit a couple of homeruns before the season is done, but I’m not sure he’s a frontrunner exactly. He _might_ be. He’s got the tools. ---

Did this guy say he’s 19 and in high school? Why did Simon introduce this guy with the stupid hair and nasily off-pitch voice? Did Ryan quit? Did he have to pee? Did he find the man of his dreams and run away? Seriously, what’s with the bangs and Mary Tyler Moore flip? That was not nice at all. ---

Alex Lambert is coming off nervous and flat. Is probably capable of better. The best thing about his presence here is that it’s probably making Mary Powers eat her heart out. ---

I don’t know who this James Morrison guy is, but if he sounds like him? That’s not a compliment to either one. Ah! Bless Ellen for mentioning the mullet. I really like her as a judge! ---
