I thought he kind of “cheated” last week by doing a Red Hot Chili Peppers version of a Stevie Wonder song rather than really trying to sing Stevie Wonder. It kind of bugs me that he won’t go an inch out of his comfort zone.

Covais actually doesn’t suck that much tonight. I wonder if Barry told him not to try to dance,

He did well!

They’ve poofed Cutie’s hair. He still can’t sing.
Uh oh, Lisa may be in trouble. That’s the best I’ve heard Kevin in all this competition since audition.

Kevin didn’t suck tonight, but I still have no desire to ever hear him sing again.

I really don’t understand Kevin’s appeal. I don’t think he’s cute at all; he totally creeps me out. Still, this was probably his best performance and I guess he’ll likely be around another week.

He’s just so insipid. I agree the kid has moxie, but this isn’t Special American Idol. We’re not applauding these people for their pluck and determination. We want them to actually be good!

Elliot is always laughing and he always seems so polite. And he’s seems so honest.
Barry is giving him very good advice. Fingers crossed for my dark horse favorite.

Well, they all do that. I mean, really, for all of Simon’s blustering every week about how this or that performance is very “karaoke” (aka “Portuguese nightclub”), they kind of _all_ are, every week. Nobody really does anything different on this show. Every single song that Carrie did last year sounded exactly like the original versions, and on top of it, _every single song sounded like a Carrie-Underwood-Brand cover of the original version_. Nobody gets much latitude on this show. By and large, people vote for the contestants who perform the most recognizable versions of songs they already know. How else would you be able to tell whether it’s “good” or not? Most people don’t know how to tell good singing from bad - they only know what they like, which is what is familiar. (Remember what happened to Nadia last year? Even Simon said she didn’t get voted out because she did a bad job, but because she picked a bad song - i.e., one that nobody recognized).

Kevin is too cute for words. He looks like a grown-up live-action Cabbage Patch Kid. Can someone tell me why they think he’s bad? He hits the right notes at the right time - unlike, say, Ace. I think he’s too young for this competition, but I don’t think he’s terrible. He just sounds like a 16-year-old kid among a bunch of 20-somethings.

Tonight is the only night Kevin hit all the right notes at the right time. He’s always— always flat. It has no power and no color and, I repeat, is often off-key.

Elliott is _so boring_. He reminds me of a guy I work with, who exhibits all the personality of a doorknob, but without the shine. He seems like a nice enough guy, and he really can sing, but I just can’t muster the energy to care.

Really? I thought he was OK last week. Perhaps I have Cute Blindness, or Space Madness, or something. I will be the first person to admit that I’m more than a little bit out of my mind. So.

Great. We have to listen to Pickler sing patsy Cline. I wonder what common, household object will amaze her tonight.

Elliot is a great singer, but he’s missing a little something on stage.

He’s also the first one over the past two weeks to say he didn’t really like the guest (Stevie or Barry) going into the week.

I don’t care about the schtick, I just hope she doesn’t ruin “Crazy” or “I Fall To Pieces” or I _will_ go to California and beat her.
