Casey should do “People Get Ready” - the version by Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart. If he can pull that off on the guitar and vocals, it’d be about the best thing ever. ---

Well, feel free to post a youtube video of your performance for us to decide if you can SING it, or can simply “sing” it, the way William Hung can sing “Rocket Man.” ---

It’s fun, but it’s easy. 🙂 I can see where you’re coming from, **Sam** ; like you say, if he can pull off the Stewart/Beck version (including the guitar work), it would be killer. ---

I fronted a band for years, dude. I’m a perfectly mediocre bar band singer. If I can hit all the notes, then that’s how I know it’s easy. The basic melody line for “Dock of the Bay” is pretty simple. It’s been a showcase song for singers because it leaves a lot of room for ornamentation, but the essential line is pretty basic.
