Michael Johns, dammit. All the boys are not named David. 🙂

Except for the ending, I thought Carly did a good job with her song. I was surprised that the judges hated it so much. It made me wonder if Carly being in the bottom three last week affected their judgment – that they need to show they’re in touch with the voters.

But that can’t be, because they were all over Kristy.

I wish Kristy would have chosen a different country song. It wouldn’t surprise me if she ends up in the bottom three again, despite the “patriotic” song. Believe me, many country fans recognize that song for what it is – a quick paycheck for Lee Greenwood.
He received unanimous praise from the judges (and a standing ovation from the crowd) for his _Shop Around_, which is decidedly up-tempo.
Medum-tempo, I would say, but I see your point. Regardless, the guy has done more slow-to-medium tempoed songs than anyone, it seems to me. It is becoming his schtick.

I don’t hate him (yet), but I am not as big a fan as I was the first few times I heard him.

A few Wednesday night points, but first-
I love David Cook, thought he was brilliant last night. When he held that one note forever… then, when a mere mortal would have faded out, he kicks it up an octave stronger than ever. Awesome. Love him to pieces.

Now… for the little group thing this evening. I love Jason, though I agree lately he has been underwhelming. But let me tell you… all I could think was how “Brady” he looked… and I hesitate to call it this… dancing during the group thing. Peter Brady, to be specific. Made me giggle.

And now that we have had our mini-infomercial for iTunes… please carry on 🙂

Oh, the whole group sing was pretty painful. Dance around! Act like it’s spontaneous! Pointy pose!

Ryan credited Chris Cornell again today, and he said that Chris has told him earlier that he really liked Emo David’s cover. Rock on, dude!! _devil horns_ Personally, I think he should probably win. The Chris Cornell-type stuff is what he’ll be singing if he wins, and Idol could do a whole lot worse. (Hell, it might even get me to own an Idol contestant’s song someday. Oh, the shame!)

Oh, I understand now.

I have honestly thought of him as “Mini-Groban” since the first time I heard him sing. Or Broadway, either one.

Am I the only one who thinks that David Cook is (to “cover” a line from Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil) a “walkin’ streak of sex” when he’s onstage? He’s far from the prettiest (that would be Jason “Dude, where’s my range?” Castro [here seen skinny and [shirtless](http://www.realitytvscoop.com/gallery/jason-castro-no-shirt/) and as stoned as usual) but there’s just something about Cook that’s incredibly “have him brought to my rooms, leave wine and lamb and assorted flavors of oils, then take the rest of the night off” to me.

Well, it couldn’t last forever. After two very entertaining weeks in a row, looks like we’re back to the old hot-'n-mostly-cold AI.

The heck with comprehensive analyses; I’m too tired. Here’s the four I most want to stay:

1. Ramiele Magulbay - Okay, I gotta pull for a woman here, and I really hate endless generic power ballads and soul. Besides, I want one of the vanilla blondes to go first.

2. David Archuleta - Yeah, I know, too young, too inexperienced…listen, he sounds really nice, he’s humble enough to learn from his mistakes, and he doesn’t give the same 'ol same 'ol all the time. Thumbs up as far as I’m concerned.

3. Jason Castro - Love him or hate him, you can usually count on him doing something just a little offbeat…something AI desperately needs most of the time. And hey, if enough guys with weird hair make a good run, maybe we can finally stop constantly freaking out about it! 🙂

4. Chikeze Hardtorememberlastname - Smooth, easy-on-the-ears male soul is a rarity here, and Chick hasn’t looked bad yet. He’s the first person all season I actually look forward to hearing perform, and it’d be great for the show…and future AIs…if he went a long, long way.

And the five ABSOLUTE WORST SONG CHOICES of the week:

1. Carly Smithson (Total Eclipse of the Heart) - Aside from being an incredibly overrated song (and from my understanding, a vast part of it is due to the video), notice how repetitive the opening is? In a competition where “boring” is the kiss of death, that’s not good.

2. David Cook (Billie Jean) - _Sigh_…Look, I know it seemed like a good idea at the time, but there’s a difference between “original” and “just plain weird”, and IMO this was way in the latter category. And do you really want to do a song tearing down a girl in a show like this?

3. Michael Johns (We Will Rock You Slash We Are The Champions) - Car-ly SMITH-son! [clap clap clapclapclap] Car-ly SMITH-son! [clap clap clapclapclap] Furthermore, the whole _reason_ the two songs were spliced together was because Queen thought they were _too short_ to play individually…meaning that either uncut would’ve been the perfect length for AI! Pick one or the other! Jeez!

4. Kristy Lee Cook (American Blarghfest) - Ugh. Pretty much agree with everything that’s been said here. All I really got to add that in terms of clueless, oblivious, absolute-zero stupidity, not realizing that the 9/11 well is completely dry, George W. Bush and his war are both utterly despised, and diehard chest-thumping patriotism right now is going over like Penn Jilette in ski boots completely blows the doors off of anything Kellie Pickler ever did.

5. Brooke White (Every Breath You Take) - The stalker song? You kidding me? THE STALK-FRICKIN’-ER SONG???
(Am I really the first person to point this out? Yikes.)

I have a hunch that this Kristy is going down hard. Remember, she was in the bottom 3 last week, and she just dug herself deeper. She honestly looks like she doesn’t have a clue in the world, and while America can be dumbly patriotic, there is a limit. If not her, probably Carly Smithson, David Cook, or Syesha Mercado. I’m seeing a Bo Bice scare for Chikeze or Archie, but not this week.

Well, at this point we have in the bottom three:

Chikezie, Syesha, and Jason

and sent back to the couches as safe is:

Jason

I have to admit that this would NOT be my choice of bottom two at this stage; I think

Ramiele and Kristy

belong there, not the ones who are there.

I second what \*\*Reloy3 \*\*said. Quite insightful and, in retrospect, accurate.

I’m ☹ about tonight’s decision to

Send home Chikieze, he

…may not be the best, but I can think of a few I’d prefer to have gone home first.

This week David Cook, who has been the main target of my irrational hatred, finally won me over. Cribbed arrangement or not (which, frankly, never bothered me when Daughtry did it), his choices are brilliant and his voice holds up. And I was just happy he put away the guitar for a week.

I still think Jason C. is the prettiest thing ever, but I’m finding it harder to get past the whole dumb-as-a-post thing. Aw, who am I kidding? I followed **Sampiro** ’s link! 😃
Oh! Did anyone else notice Simon’s comment about how David Archuleta probably didn’t choose the song himself? Could that have been a veiled reference to his allegedly stage-y dad?
I definitely think so, and I completely agree with Simon on the song choice. It reminded me of those Jon-Benet “Little Miss” pageants where 5 year olds are singing “What I Did for Love” or a 9th grade Tevye singing _Chavelah_ in the school play- just “he knows it’s emotional but doesn’t know why”. He needs to sing things that are more 16ish and fun (and the "ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh"s were just too theatrical). The song does sound a lot like a song a middle aged stage-dad thinks would sound deep, however.
Perhaps if David fantasized about being an emancipated minor with plenty of money he’d have the joy and outlook necessary.

I would say that about the “We Will Rock You,” but “We are the Champions” has a brilliant and challenging lead vocal.
I thought _We Are the Champions_ was the second half of _We Will Rock You_.

I still think that, and I get annoyed when they play just _We Will Rock You_ on Radio Disney. This does not amuse Michaela.

BTW, I’m not really following the show this season, and since Michaela is out of the house for the week, the only reason I’m looking at this thread is to find out for **kaylasmom** who’s gone and what song they did. Perusing the thread, I have not found one of the report cards **Lib** did so well last season.

Would someone be a bud and spoil the losing song for me, please?
