I think what we saw on Tuesday finally _was_ Josh’s own style - I think he’s a country singer and has no business being on a popular music contest.

Ok, first of all, this week’s show sucked. The whole thing. Only 3 contestants even understood the catagory, and 2 of the 3 of them were among the worst of the worst singers on this show.

Secondly, I have to congratulate Julia DeMato for having the balls to participate in this contest and for making it as far as she did. She handled being voted out with grace and class. It’s clear she is a “late-comer” to performing, unlike all of her competitors, who have been performing for years. She’s got a pretty voice and with practice she could overcome her stage fright. Hell, even mega star Barbra Streisand spent years only singing in a recording studio because she had paralyzing stage fright! Brava, Julia and good luck with your career.

And on a final, bizarre note, how long does anyone think Trenyce will last now that The Smoking Gun has exposed her [felony theft conviction](http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/trenyce1.html)? Another one the producers apparently knew about, but called “[minor](http://www.eonline.com/News/Items/0,1,11518,00.html?tnews)”.

So let me see if I understand this. Fox doesn’t mind theives representing them as America’s Idol, but nekkid titties are a bad, bad thing. Have I got that right?

How is this different from any private company? They’ll forgive a theft conviction before excusing posing on a porn site.

</div>

I have no idea if it differs from any other company, public or private. Please explain how that’s in any way relevant?

I simply find it odd that Fox’s morality allows for **illegal** activity to be considered “minor” when considering who it wants representing them as the next up-and-coming star, but considers **legally** exposing one’s breasts \<GASP!\> a dismissable offense.

Now I’m reading message board posts at [televisionwithoutpity.com](http://televisionwithoutpity.com) that are supposedly from a friend of hers who’s claiming that it was Trenyce’s former friend and roommate who’d stolen clothing from their mutual employer. Because the clothing was found in their shared apartment and because Trenyce is the one who got the friend the job at the store, she was charged as an accessory. But because none of the clothes were her size, and there was no evidence that she was directly involved, the charge was reduced to misdemeanor “diversion” and after a year of probation and no further problems, the conviction was stricken from her record.

However, this is such a good friend that she misrepresented Trenyce as having been a minor when this occurred (which she was not – one only need do the math to have figured that out), then came back and retracted it, claiming the clarification came from _Trenyce’s_ attorney, with whom this friend allegedly had a conversation. For the life of me, I can’t imagine an attorney discussing his client’s case with _anyone_ not his or her client, but what do I know.

Keep in mind that this comes from an anonymous source on a message board and not a reputable news source. Make of it what you will.

Wait a second! I must have missed something. Who was dismissed for posing on a porn site? (I missed an episode in the early rounds - was it someone from the first show or two?)

It was the very talented Frenchie who was dismissed for posing on a porn site. I guess the big problem was that site also featured some underage girls. Nevertheless, it was a shame because Frenchie can really, really sing and she has a terrific personality.

</div>

Of course, had Frenchie NOT been dismissed, the outcome of the competition would have been a foregone conclusion, and ratings would have suffered. She was that much better. A woman among children.

I think that’s why she was “dismissed.”

For the record, Frenchie maintains that the site didn’t have underage girls when she posed for them, and she herself was not underage when she posed. And yes, she was far and away the best singer/performer in the competition - I was _really_ looking forward to hearing her really let loose. I heard today that she has a spot as a correspondent or something on…Entertainment Tonight? Some show like that. (Fuzzy details are my speciality!)

Hey, first time poster, and I hate to come out of lurkdom all criticizey but I have to or bust.

First of all, I enjoy watching or listening to AI, but find most times I can’t comfortably do both. Too many of those people get on my nerves. My thoughts:

Clay - he can sing for sure, but agree with Simon, he does sound exactly the same every single time. Oh, and lose the lip gloss.

Ruben - great voice, looks cuddly, in desperate need of some new threads. We get the 205 thing already.

Trenyence - eh. Sounds good most of the time but am distracted by those talons you insist on pecking the microphone with. Only people with talent like Cher, Sting or Madonna are allowed one name, got it?

Carmen - cute as a button, but am in deep fear she may break into full fledged yodeling at any given moment. It’s there, just waiting to break free. She’ll be great when she grows up.

Ricky - who? Seriously, good singer, too nice, he’ll get eaten alive.

Corey - Dude! That Fat Albert kid called and wants his hat back! The King of Pitchey-ville. Stop. Singing. Now.

Josh - I thought this was POP. This should be a riot when it gets round to disco week. Plus too much controversy about the marine crap. I am numb to him now.

Kim C - CAMERA HOG - don’t recall hearing her sing. I have heard her SHOUT through songs though. Was not impressed. My husband thinks she’s the shit, the perv.

Kim L - sings well and glad to see she has toned down the attitude with Simon. Attitude irritates me and makes me not vote.

BTW, I seriously love this show. I snark with the deepest of affection.🙂

Nothing mysterious about it. They sabotaged her by giving her that rude slam to say to Ryan Seacrest, making her look ungrateful and bitchy. She was punished for it. Total suck.

Something about Clay just … isn’t … right. I can’t quite nail it down, but the Christopher Walken/heavy-lidded Manilow look is a place to start.

Every time I see him, I think he’s an escapee from The Island of Misfit Toys.
