Carrie doesn’t carry herself very well on stage, that’s for sure. But that can be taught, and much of it will come with experience. ---

I never noticed before how many one-hit wonders came from North of the Border (Glass Tiger, Corey Hart, Nelly Furtado, Tom Cochrane … the hits just keep on coming!). **Only Mostly Dead** : Don’t know why I didn’t dream of someone singing Sarah McLachlan, because I love her. Although “Possession” is more the sort of song that Scott would attempt (and completely wreck), don’t you think? Carrie would probably go the “obvious” Idol route and do “Angel” or “I Will Remember You.” I would love for her to do Alanis, but she wouldn’t do one of the good Alanis songs (although there is something just-so-wickedly-proper about Carrie maybe singing “Perfect” from _Jagged Little Pill_). And clearly, even in my dreams, I don’t like Shania Twain. And to whoever asked – I don’t know who did well. I don’t remember dreaming that part. But Bo did OK, I imagine, and since “The Old Apartment” is my favorite BNL song, I’m going to hope Constantine did. If it were a _perfect_ dream, then the stage would have opened up under everyone else and swallowed them whole. ---

Damn, **rockle** , that’s some thorough and detailed dreaming. He works well with simple pop/motown melodies. Carrie probably would go obvious. She’s cute as a button, but dumb as a brick when it comes to picking unique yet accessible songs. I watch the rebroadcast in Asia the next day. I don’t get to vote, but I only have to wait until morning to find out who got booted. Reading your comments is more entertaining than watching the results show later. I almost paid up a few weeks ago just to report the following: One night, when Paula was really… uh… tipsy…, someone here made a comment about the content of their Coke tumblers. Anyway, later I’m watching my show with my foster son, who really shouldn’t know about these things yet, and whose English isn’t that great yet, blurts out (paraphrased): “She’s drunk! She’s got things in that coke glass and is drinking!” I about died with laughter. Tonight it was, “She’s always drunk.” A-hem. Anyway, back to the music. This is not my type of music. No one was particularly horrid, but no one was particularly great. (Bo was pretty good; I don’t think he’s ever been bad.) Although tonight he wasn’t bad, Scott should get the boot to make up for the injustice of last week. (I was a big Nadia fan, even though I knew she wasn’t good enough to win. She had great presence.) My wife and I both like Vonzell a lot. I don’t know if there was something wrong the broadcast we heard, but she was totally overpowered by the backup singers. Anyone else experience that? BTW, what is TiVo? ---

Whoops…almost forgot. One for all the folks making the Stepford Barbie comparisons about Carrie – did anyone happen to catch Howard Stern’s comments on her this morning? He nailed it down perfectly: the JonBenet Ramsey case was a hoax…she’s alive and well and performing each week on _AI_. ---

You just dedicate a recorder to it, push a button to record part of the first performance, push a button to stop it, then do the same thing for each successive performance. Voila! Highlights reel (or disc). Technician should know high points of each performance from having seen dress rehearsal. But they’re doing it the safe way. Record at dress rehearsal, use live performance as a backup. (At least that’s my guess as to how they’re doing it.) ---

I like Carrie, I really do, but that “We don’t got no [whatever-- running water, indoor plumbing, electricity] in Buttfuck, Kentucky! Wee’z a poor farmin’ town!” is annoying. This week it was “we don’t have no dance clubs in Hicksville, USA. I dance by myself!” A couple of weeks ago it was fancy cars “we got cows!” Her dumb hick act is beginning to grate. There are a few here who like Constantine. I wish they’d speak up more because I really, really (not being snarky here-- well, maybe a little) REALLY want to know why. Everyone says Savol is creepy-- and don’t get me wrong, he is, but Connie looks like a damned psycho. He doesn’t look like he’s making love to the camera. He looks like he’s plotting to torture and kill it. Plus he scares my daughter. I predict Anwar will get the axe. My predictions are worth the paper they are written on. I didn’t write them on paper, you say? Well, there you go. ---

I loved Bo and Vonzell. Constantine was good. They are definitely my top three. I seriously hope Scott gets the axe this week. I still can’t figure out who is voting for his dumb ass. And Carrie, jeez. Simon was right on. I lollered when he said she was Barbie mixed with a Stepford wife. My thoughts exactly. And her singing really isn’t that impressive either. I cannot imagine who would buy her albums. ---
