Okay, I see how it is. They send the pretty boy home and all of a sudden nobody cares anymore. Where are my fellow Idolators today? ---

Well, I dunno about the others but I’m finding it extremely difficult to get excited about a show with Andrea Bocelli. :dubious: ---

Hey, I was just thinking of starting this. I can’t wait for the shlockfest that will be “love songs”. I’m picturing a duet a la John Denver and Placido Domingo on “Perhaps Love” between…, well. with Bucky gone I guess between Elliot and Andrea B. and Chris is the true pretty boy!! ---

I’m not sure I’m going to be able to catch tonight’s episode since I have to pick somone up at the airport, but given the theme and guest performer, I’m not really disappointed. I’m guessing that Katharine might come out best tonight with her voice being more classical than anyone else’s, but she still has the problem of finding the right stage presence for her songs. I think everyone might struggle tonight with that. I don’t see Chris or Taylor working particularly well in the style of Bocelli. Paris may not have enough maturity to make a love song work. Elliott has the same problem as Katharine in terms of having a good voice, but not connecting on stage. Kellie will be completely out of her element, I think. ---

I’ve been trying to think of a clever thread title all day. Never did come up with one (obviously). I’m not sure what to expect tonight. “Love songs” is a pretty broad category. I’m sure everyone can find something to suit his/her style. I’m still scratching my head at the choice of Andrea Bocelli as the celebrity guest. Oh, and he’s blind? I did not know that. Shows how familiar I am with his music. I’m just going to sit back and enjoy the fact that Ace is gone. Yay! (Sorry, **PapSett**.) ---

Every time I hear him sing I think about two-headed dragons that talk like Mr. Potato-Head and Sir Robin. Gotta wonder what they’re thinking Andrea’s going to be able to help anyone with. I mean it’s not like America is going to have an epiphany that: “Hey! Music is about SOUND!”, and drop the music video industry for the waste of time and resources that it is. And surely noone is expecting this crowd to try to sing in any kind of style that he has expertise with. Could be a trainwreck. 'Scuse me. I need to go set my TiVo. ---

I’m hoping it’s Katherine’s time to go. Not so much for me (although she bores me to tears) as for my wife – she hates that woman possibly more than I hated Ace. Having our respective most-hateds get booted back-to-back would be a very nice thing indeed. ---

I truly am having a hard time getting excited for tonight. I knew from the get-go neither of my favorites had a snowball’s chance in hell, but to lose them both 2 weeks running… _sigh_ I would love to see either Katharine or The Pickler gone, but I somehow think since they are favored by the judges, they will be among the Chosen Ones. Excuse me while I go pout some more. ---

I’m realizing that this year, the producers are really trying to play to the strengths of certain singers (Katharine, Elliot, Paris) by week after week choosing either Love Songs, Standards, or categories with trained-vocalist outs (Katharine’s “Who Wants To Live Forever” in Queen week). They’re trying to influence who will win via song category choice, I’m sure of it. ---
