I don’t know any Shania Twain songs off the top of my head, and I listen to a fair amount of country. Loved country night when they had Dolly Parton a couple years back (yeah, that was my fave, David Cook’s year). Dolly has written such a wide range of songs, it actually made for an interesting night. ---

(Anticipating the merge of two threads) - people seem to have forgotten all about Shania Twain. Yes, she has plenty of songs for the contestants to chose from, and yes, everybody who participates in these threads probably knows most if not all of them. Shania was THE star in country/crossover music for a significant period of time (you could argue that she invented the country/crossover genre). ---

I know this is sad to hear, but Shania Twain is one of the biggest selling artists of all time. She’s sold 48 million CDs, according to the RIAA. ---

I don’t think it’s sad to hear; she’s talented for the genre she performs in, isn’t horrible to look at, and always seemed like a genuinely nice person (didn’t she raise her siblings?). Plus she was married to Mutt Lange for years; she certainly must have picked up something from him about being marketable. Her music may not be to everyone’s taste, but it’s no worse than a similarly-limited-focus mentor, like Neil Diamond or Jon Bon Jovi.
