Holy cow–Iggy Pop performing (shirtless, of course) on the American Idol stage. This is kind of surreal. I think they’ve got someone on the censor button–the sound cut out twice during his performance. ---

I’m actually shocked that it wasn’t Jacob–not because I think he’s bad, I actually like him–but because of his whole “If I go home, it’s because you can’t look in the mirror.” Pia looked smokin’ hot tonight, even more so than usual. Amazing rack. Oh, and since Pia was my pool pick to win it all, I’m calling it now–Scotty McCreery is your next American Idol. ---

It’s a pop show, not a “This song means sooooo much to me” show. ---

Now for a dose of reality, Iggy Pop will be 64 yrs old in a couple weeks. Yikes. I feel old. Is any else surprised that Iggy Pop appears to be tattoo-free? (at least from the waist up) ---

I’m glad to see Pia go. Sure, she had a nice voice, but she was completely devoid of any charisma - and that’s what makes a fantastic performer. She’ll do fine as a back-up/studio singer, but does not belong on the stage. I also attribute 50% of the loss to that horrid cow-suit thing Stefani had her wear. It was really bad. But, style is also something that is extremely important to a performer. The only thing that could have made it better was for Jacob to go - if only because I picked him in our office pool. I can’t stand him. Does anyone else think that the Judges maybe should have kept their face-making and hand-waving in check a little more tonight? Obviously, they have their opinions, but didn’t they just make several people in the top 8 feel like it should have been them? I felt bad for Stefano.
