I hate Carly. I’m not sure why. Oh, wait – yes I do. It’s because she’s not that good, is painful to look at, isn’t having any fun, and thinks she’s incredible. Plus she already had a major record deal that bombed and has no business being on this show. ---

Hmm, I think I forgot David A can play piano, and I really like his foray into baritone at the beginning. Never heard the song, but it sounds more like what I was expecting tonight to sound like. ---

Here comes Archie. Can he really do an inspirational song? Starting at the piano. I don’t recognize this song. A little pitchy on the low notes. Does this song have a good part? This is just a really dull song choice. I’m sure he’ll survive, though. ---

I hope Carly gets hit by a bus. Not necessarily because I want her to die but because it seems everybody is so effin’ in love with her, it’s probably the only way to get her off the damn show. ---

My wife is excited. She likes Brooke and LOVES Carole King. I bet she does “You’ve Got a Friend.” Unless it’s “You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman.” Now THAT would be an interesting song choice! ---

It’s a song called Angels (I think) that Jessica Simpson covered once. I think Robbie Williams has done it, too. ---

David A doesn’t do anything for me. He’s an OK singer, but it feels like a parlor trick. Brooke is doin’ OK with the Carole. ---

Brooke is like a younger Carole King anyway, so this song is truly perfect for her. She could cover the whole Tapestry album and sell a zillion copies to all us folks who grew up on it. ---

Bah… Brooke. I really hate that affected, lilting, country thing she’s doing. My hatred of her is usually pretty irrational, but this time I think she really did suck. That was tepid, karaoke bullshit. ---

I wonder how many of the kids in that audience have any idea who Carole King is, probably just a few. Good song choice and she did it well. Her hair like this so reminds me of Sheryl Crow as a blond. ---
