Call me corny, but I think of all the AI moments, my favorite have been seeing Elton and Barry work with the singers. I wonder who else they’ll have before the season is done? Wouldn’t it suck if they had somebody like Paul McCartney or Bruce Springsteen the week AFTER you were kicked off? I would regret that more than getting booted! ---

I wonder if the illegitimate daughter thing will help or hurt Fantasia, now that she’s had the kid on stage? Will the audience respond favorably because Fantasia clearly dotes on her child and the kid is adorable, or respond negatively because she’s a mom? I don’t even know if being a single mom is any worse than just being a mom at all. Imagine the shock and horror if John survives to suck on Latin music night and Fantasia gets the boot. ---

It didn’t hurt Nikki in season 1 and probably got her a lot of sympathy votes. However, it’s really not fair to the other contestants to trot out the illegitimite kids for the audience sympathy. BTW, I saw the producer or someone on ET or Extra and he said there was a big upset with the votes. It makes me wonder if George didn’t buy it or maybe even LaToya or Fantasia. If LaToya gets Tamyra’d I am definitely done with the show. ---

It could be Jennifer, which isn’t THAT much of a shock, but might be advertised as such. LaToya wouldn’t shock me as much as it should… she’s a good singer, possibly the best (if not the most interesting) in the group, but she doesn’t inspire a huge fan base. I suspect most of the people who like her are too mature to spend the entire two hours speed dialing. ---

You know, come to think, a “big upset” doesn’t have to mean that anyone besides John Stevens gets to go home… it might just mean that a favorite (George or LaToya or Fantasia) is in the bottom three. ---

This isn’t very suspenseful. George is obviously going to be safe because he ha to be in a group of four, and it isn’t hard to figure out the safe group. I’ll be freaking AMAZED if the divas are bottom three. ---

Well my favorite singer is gone. This just proves that Americans have no taste and that’s why pop culture sucks. This show needs to be restructured so that feebs like John Stevens don’t keep surviving week after week of pure suckitude while the best voice of show gets screwed. They should make it so that you can vote _against_ people or simply take the vote away from the public entirely and let the judges decide. Tonight’s show makes me rethink even the wisdom of democracy as a political system. ---

Why all the surprise? It’s simple cannibalization. The bottom three each have a more or less unique sound, but their appeal is pretty much identical. 90% of people who like one will like all three. Since not everyone casts multiple votes, they wind up stealing from each others voting base. And given the “My shit don’t stink” vibe our loser put out from day one, I can’t say I’m upset she’s gone. ---

Well, that was a big upset. I knew they were setting up George though when he told him to go to the top group and let him pick. George seemed like he was afraid to choose because he sensed a trick. That just proves how whacked the voting is for this thing. She did not deserve to go yet and the other two did not deserve the bottom 3. Paula actually said something smart tonight. ---
